Cades Cove Loop is an 11-mile, one-way scenic drive featuring pioneer log cabins, historic churches, and the working water-powered Cable Mill. The valley's open meadows make it one of the park's premier spots to view black bears, white-tailed deer, and wild turkeys, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. Visitors can access hikes like Abrams Falls from the loop, but expect a 2 to 4 hour drive due to slow traffic, and remember to pick up a park parking tag before visiting. From May through September, the road closes to motor vehicles on Wednesdays so cyclists and pedestrians can enjoy the cove car-free.
