Off and on over the years we’ve rented 70s era VW buses. It was more “off” than on because, well, those things are just a lot! About 8 years ago some dude called and basically begged to rent the white 1970 Bus we had - he had the same one, etc. so we were like - totally! go for it…
….
In one of our favorite renter stories ever, their starter died on their last day south of portland. We mutually agreed they should go for it - driving back to Seattle without turning the vehicle off…including while filling up (safer than they lead you to believe)…
….
About 7 hours later in rolls with a grin on his face and an epic story to end a great trip….
….
Fast forward to last weekend and these renters come out as last second surprise for their 12 year old’s birthday. I (Harley) was not in so didn’t get to meet them…but as they set off they tagged us and I clicked through and dang! it was the guy from 8!years ago with the 1970 bus!!!
….
