Something in your car could be quietly draining your battery while you sleep.

The frustrating part? You may not notice anything is wrong until you turn the key and nothing happens.

So, how do you know if your car has a parasitic draw? If a vehicle starts normally but will not start after sitting for a while, it is worth checking whether something is still using power after the car is turned off.

That is what Rob is investigating here. He is tracing different components to find out whether one is failing to fully shut down and continuing to pull power from the battery.

The battery may be taking the blame, but the real problem could be somewhere else.

That little pull to the right might be trying to tell you something.

It can be tempting to ignore a vehicle that drifts slightly, especially if you have gotten used to making small corrections while driving. But changes in how your car tracks can be worth investigating.

Reggie is diagnosing this vehicle for a rightward drift and reviewing its alignment to help determine what is behind the behavior.

So, what happens if you keep driving with a bad alignment? Besides making the vehicle harder to keep straight, incorrect alignment can contribute to uneven tire wear and affect how the vehicle handles.

That does not mean every pull is automatically an alignment problem. Proper testing helps separate the possibilities and identify what the vehicle actually needs.

The repair you see is just part of the job.

There is often a lot happening before a technician ever picks up a wrench. Two technicians working together may be comparing observations, checking test results, or trying to understand why a vehicle is behaving the way it is.

So, what happens when a car problem is difficult to diagnose?

The first step is not guessing. A thorough diagnostic process looks at the symptoms, tests the relevant systems, and works toward the actual source of the problem.

Sometimes that process benefits from another perspective. A second set of eyes can help connect details that might otherwise seem unrelated.

One little light. A whole lot to figure out.

Evan is testing the left rear turn signal on this Range Rover, and this is a good example of why diagnostics matter.

Why is the turn signal not working even though the bulb looks fine?
Because the bulb is only one piece of the system. The socket, wiring, connections, switches, and electrical signals can all play a role, so replacing a bulb without testing first may not solve the actual problem.

That is particularly important with modern vehicles, where a simple lighting complaint can involve a more complex electrical system.

This August, our team got out of the shop and back to our Adopt-A-Street cleanup in the Seattle community.

It is easy to walk or drive past the same streets every day without noticing what has accumulated along the way. A few hours of picking up litter, working together, and giving some attention to the spaces around us can make a bigger difference than you might expect.
