So first off 💪. I’m pleased, some good R&D. I have some other options I’m looking at. It’s definitely nice to have this one if we need for now. I’ll keep posting my plans as they unfold. Keep watching.

So it’s been 2 yrs on the Ram 5500. I have always run Fords, like 6 I believe with a combined 500k miles.
Safe to say I’ve been a Ford guy.
That said this Ram has been a good truck so far. I do really like the cumins motor. Cab has a few rattles I could do without. The two main items I’ve noticed different from the F550. Suspension and weight, The Ram has a softer ride which means it sags more under the weight. It handles weight fine just more sag when hooking trailers. The second is the Ram weighs more than the Ford did. Now the Ram has a larger fuel tank and a different hook that is a lighter unit. All in all I am happy with the truck. We’ll see what wins out when another truck is needed.
