Pothole season is here, and it’s taking a toll on Michigan roads and drivers alike.

Service Director Ryan Seidler was on CBS Detroit sharing what to watch for after a hard hit, including damage that isn’t always obvious right away.

A few quick tips to keep in mind this season:

🛞 As you approach a pothole, avoid slamming on your brakes as this can increase the force of impact and cause more damage
🚙 Just because the car still drives fine doesn’t mean there’s no damage
🧭 Watch for pulling, vibrations or uneven tire wear after a hard hit
🔧 Get it checked sooner rather than later to help avoid bigger repairs
📸 If there’s visible damage, document it right away

🔴 Engine Oil Warning – Low oil pressure can literally grind your engine to a halt. Oil is your car’s version of blood, and if it’s not flowing, the patient is at risk!

🛑 Brake System Light – Getting where you need to go is one thing; being able to stop safely on arrival is even more critical. Don’t mess with a glowing brake light!
