A special encounter at A few years ago, Holden’s mom had reached out about coaching her son Holden who was starting a new job that required a lot of driving in all weather conditions in a big SUV. We spent the day practicing at Willow Springs all sorts of drills, including skidding, oversteer, understeer, navigating tight spaces, defensive driving, using high horizon vision etc - a confidence building day. This is a similar protocol I follow for CHP candidates to help them pass the academy.

I was so pleased to see that Holden has now driven 40,000 miles confidently in the Midwest in rain, sleet and snow. Music to my ears. It was wonderful seeing him again.

Your dreams on this Earth are created and defined by YOU. What you do here matters. When you do it matters. As we get older, time runs out. Time is the one thing we can’t get back. We can define our own destinies. Racetrack driving changed my life. I never thought it would change me and redefine me the way it has. Shortly before I “did this” somebody said to me: Martina, I want to make you a champion! I thought to myself this person is ridiculous. It’s not in my wheelhouse or remotely something I thought of or would even be possible. Someone who started in Accounting and Finance with in New York City to become a race car driver later in life. But, you know what, If you believe in yourself, it’s never too late to make a mark in whatever you choose. If not now, when?

Join us next week for either our DK Racimg School - SCCA Novice Permit on April 30th at Buttonwillow Circuit, DK Precision Driving School or DK Open Track Day at Willow Springs on May 1st.

It’s possible if you believe in yourself. It’s possible if you take the first step.

Who else has a new racing helmet? Here’s a reminder that the 2015 helmets have expired so when you buy a new one, we would suggest buying a 2025. This will last you for the next 10 years. 2020 ones are also valid but will expire in 2030. Ie SNELLSA 2020 or 2025.
