8115, 8116, and 7333 -- what are the differences?
👉 Panel Bonding Adhesive (8115): Has what we call "mixed mode failure". This means as the collision energy is absorbed, the adhesive separates in 2 ways, adhesively and cohesively by design.
👉 Panel Bonding Adhesive (8116): Has "cohesive failure". This means the panel is still completely covered with the adhesive after it separates.
👉 Impact Resistant Structural Adhesive (7333): This is our impact resistant structural adhesive (IRSA). This adhesive is unique because it contains crash tougheners, which means panels stay together for a longer period of time to absorb crash energy.
Make sure to always consult OEM repair procedures to ensure you are using the right adhesive for a safe and quality repair. http://go.3M.com/4PmW
