It has arrived... The first road legal 450 from Ducati since the Scrambler 450, In production stopped in 1974. According to Ducati, the Scrambler line went through several evolutions until 1968 when the real wide-case Scramblers arrived first in 250 and 350 form, then in 1969 the 450 variant.

The same 436cc wide-case single also powered the road going 450 Mark III and 450 Desmo (Cafe racer) which both ended the same year as the Scrambler 450.

Nothing displacement wise has come close since. The Hypermotard 698 Mono in 2024, was Ducati's first road single since those bikes but it is a 659cc, so the 450 gap has stood for over 50 years.
