🔹 As-Is — the car sells in the condition it's sitting in. No warranty, no returns, no coming back Friday because you found something.
🔹 Where-Is — it's yours right where it sits. Getting it off the lot is on you.

That's not a catch. That's the trade. No warranty and no reconditioning is a big part of why the price is what it is — you're buying the car instead of buying the dealership's overhead.

Your protection is simple: come to preview, look hard, ask us questions, and set a max that leaves a little room for surprises. Buy with your eyes open and As-Is is a bargain, not a risk.

🔹 Register at the office: ID and $20 for the year
🔹 Grab your bidder number
🔹 Find your lots, bid your number, and stop at your number

1️⃣ You park and walk in. Nothing to sign, nobody to get past. Preview is just open.
2️⃣ The cars are lined up by lot number — same numbers you saw on the list online.
3️⃣ Walk the rows at your own pace. Pop the hoods, start them up, look underneath. (No test drives — but you can hear it run.)
4️⃣ Got a question? Ask anyone in a Speed's shirt. Seriously, that's what we're out there for.
5️⃣ Write down your lot numbers and your max price beside each one. Then go home and sleep on it.

That's the whole thing. No pressure, no salesperson following you around.

Five things people get wrong about auto auctions. 🧾

❌ "It's dealers only."
Nope. Open to the public. $20 for the year, no dealer license, anybody can raise their hand.

❌ "It's all junk."
Repos, impounds, donations, trade-ins and private-party cars. Plenty of clean runners cross our block every week — right alongside the projects.

❌ "You have to know cars to buy one."
Helps, sure. But bring a friend who wrenches, come to preview day, and ask us questions. That's most of the gap right there.

❌ "It moves too fast to follow."
It moves. But you'll have the lot list in hand, and you can watch a few sell before you ever bid.

❌ "If I scratch my nose I'll accidentally buy a car."
This one's the classic — and it's not how it works. Bidding is deliberate, and the ringmen confirm it's you.

Here's the truth — everybody standing in that lane was a first-timer once, including most of the dealers. And our crew does this every single week.

So walk up to any one of us and say "this is my first auction." We'll show you where to register, how the bidding works, what the ringmen are doing, and what happens after you win one. That's not us being nice — that's the job.

Never looked at an auction list before? Here's how to read one without getting lost:

🔹 Lot number — that's the order it crosses the block. Low numbers sell early in the day.
🔹 Year, make, model, mileage — your basics for narrowing the field.
🔹 Photos — a starting point, not the whole story. The lot tells you the rest.
🔹 The notes — read every word. What's listed matters, and so does what isn't.

Then do the one thing most first-timers skip: write down your lot numbers in order. Now you know roughly when to be standing there instead of hoping you didn't miss it.

August is here, which means somebody in your house is about to start a commute. A campus schedule, a new job, a fall routine the bus doesn't cover.

Here's the honest advice: the best commuter car is a boring one. Common model, good tires, honest miles, cheap to insure and cheaper to fix. Nobody's going to compliment it in the parking lot — it's just going to start every single morning.

That car crosses our block almost every week, and you set the price, not a salesperson.
