A crash is disorienting — and in the moment, most people freeze. Here's the order that keeps everyone safest:
1️⃣ Breathe, then check yourself and your passengers for injuries.
2️⃣ Turn on your hazards. If the cars are drivable and it's safe, pull out of the lane of traffic.
3️⃣ Call 911 if anyone's hurt or the road is blocked. In Oregon you're required to report a crash with injury or major damage.
4️⃣ Exchange names, phone numbers, insurance info, and plate numbers. Stay calm — don't argue or admit fault on the spot.
5️⃣ Take photos: both cars, the damage, the position on the road, and the street signs.
Once everyone's safe and the info's exchanged — THAT's when you call for a tow.
Save this so it's there when you need it. We're here 24/7 if you do. 💚
