Day 2 of the Men’s Association Club Championship belonged to Jeff Jones.
His scorching (61) today seperated him from the logjam of contenders after day 1. Jeff was on track to shoot (59) but unfortunately found the water on 18 which led to a bogey.

There was a 2 hole playoff to determine the Senior Division champ between Justin Fry and Shawn Lueders. Shawn put himself in contention by chasing Justin’s day 1 (69) by carding a (68) today but fell short on the second hole of the playoff after both birdieing the first hole. As usual, Justin made his birdie on 1 and his par on 2 look ho hum.

In the Super Senior Division, Shon Woodland did what he has done for 60 years (and from the Blue tees)

Congratulations to Taylee VanBeekum who is just about to enter her Sophomore year at Weber High for her come from behind win in this years Ladies Club Championship. 🏆

After round 1, Taylee (82) trailed recent Riverside Ladies Club Champion Amber Croft (78), Tammy Gustaveson (79) and past champion Dixie Wood (80) but posted a smooth (78) today for a 2 day total of (160) to fend off Amber and Dixie’s 2 day total of (161)

Taylee becomes the youngest Ladies Club Champion in decades if not the youngest ever at The Barn and she has only been playing competitive golf for less than a year now.

I had this kid stop by the golf course today and spruce up my headlights.
