After over a year long build of our personal C7 street car being on the back burner to business growth and small expansion, we thrashed hard and were finally able to attend 2026 and debut the car!
It was awesome to see so many of the big names in the industry we work with as well as our friends at making it down for the first time.
We thrashed until 10:00pm the night before the event. We had wasted two weeks of wha little time we have for our personal stuff chasing crank pressure issues/ rear main seal leaks when we should have been testing, tuning, and figuring out supercharger belt combinations, but it just didn’t go down that way and we had to test at the event.
With the tuning support of we started chipping away with what little data we had and worked our way down throughout the day from a 9.8 with issues off the trailer to a 9.20 with significant belt slip putting us 5 pounds of boost lower than what we had seen on the dyno. Being so close to my 8 second pass on my first outing I had deliver a much shorter blower belt to help combats the slipping without any pulley options. Without making any changes to our second gear leave soft 60ft I wanted to get data on see where we were at on boost before finally trying to tackle the hit. The new belt worked a little TOO good seeing 27psi the whole way down the track putting us substantially over what my little GPI piston rod LT1 bottom end was ever meant for and the engine let go around the 1000ft, causing an oil fire which was exciting to say the least.
With a super soft 1.5 60ft and the engine unaliving itself and aborting early I managed my 8 second time slip way down on MPH!!!
I’m going to lick my wounds, and spec out a Shortblock program with and come back out on 15s and give it the beans and see how deep in the 8s with can get with this thing before sacrificing any kind of TRUE street car amenities or coming off the overdrive 8L90 and oem diff.
Thanks to our sponsors, and anyone who helped, lended a hand, or supported us in any capacity! With our small outfit we definitely couldn’t have done it without you!
