Hey it's Friday!!
Can we do a little PSA for any businesses out there that might be using UniWorst (UniFirst)?
We don't find any joy in doing this, and it is not our norm. But this is a little out of hand and we truly want to give other businesses a heads-up.
When we bought Sandbur June of 2023 UniFirst was the rug supplier. We carried on with them since we were happy with their product and we like our driver. He would pick up payment every 2 weeks that he came with the delivery.
Fast forward, and they no longer trust their drivers to pick up payment. They do not do online payments. So checks get mailed to corporate office in Dallas, TX. USPS is less than stellar and checks/invoices cross in the mail causing a huge headache. I called to set up on auto-pay, which we did but it is not reflected anywhere on the invoice or statements.
Rugs are now being delivered that are wavy and customers are tripping over them. We have called several times and the last delivery is the same way (also pic attached).
Invoices are consistently billed out wrong and we have to go each one for accuracy.
I called on 4.24.26 to cancel service. The delivery guy showed up anyway. When we called again, they now have 3 guys telling us we cannot cancel since an employee signed a 5 yr contract with them. They sent a "pay-out" invoice to get out of our contract which seems to have no benefit for the customer. For the low price of $2400+ we can buy out! (Our bill is typically 45/ev 2 weeks)
And there are so many other things that we have not been happy with but it seems just being a dissatisfied customer no longer gets you out of a "contract".
So if you have UniFirst, find out if you're under contract. Also know that they offer shorter contracts (6 mo, 12 mo, 3 yr, etc) that we did not know until this point.
Not sure who to contact about this: Wi Attorney General? Better Business Bureau (are they still a thing?)? Any attorneys out there?
Thanks for letting us vent!
