Do you know who invented the parking meter?
The first one was designed by Holger George Thuessen and Gerald A. Hale.
The project was given to them in 1933 by Carlton Cole Magee, Chairman of the Traffic Committee in Oklahoma City.
Once installed, the parking meters immediately improved traffic flow and provided a new revenue stream for the city.
