Last week at the Women in Parking Conference in New Orleans, this group of leading LAZ women from across the country got together to meet, collaborate, learn, and celebrate one another's successes! This group included our six women who won scholarships to attend the conference through our LAZ Amplify committee! for our women in parking!

Hey LAZ Nation! Meet Rawan Mumayiz, our awesome General Manager, at Pittsburgh International Airport! Rawan started with LAZ in 2014 while a sophomore in college. Rawan's favorite part of his job is collaborating with the airport stakeholders on various projects along with leading his extraordinary onsite team! His most memorable moments with LAZ are when he won an Innovation Award and his first time meeting our founders and the executive team in Hartford. Something you might not know about Rawan? He is currently taking flight lessons to be a certified private pilot! How cool is that?! When asked what the best advice he had ever received was, Rawan said, "Trust the process". Thank you, Rawan for all you do for us at LAZ and the Pittsburgh International Airport!
Summer in California is HOT, and our teams took time this summer to visit the employees at our Kaiser Permanente locations across Los Angeles to show appreciation and provide snacks and water to our hardworking Healthcare Services teams!

August is and we are celebrating by recognizing some of our employees who have made a difference in the Wellness of our LAZ Family! Today we are sharing Claire Nakoski, and her Movement Monday chair yoga classes! We spoke with Claire, and she told us about her motivation to start this program, "I have always been passionate about health & wellness, and as I am on the LAZ Benefits team, I work closely with those programs & initiatives. After completing my YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) in 2018, I was encouraged to share what I learned and teach a few classes to my coworkers – it was successful, and the virtual “Movement Mondays” were born shortly after!" The pandemic provided a great opportunity for Claire to make the classes virtual, and open up the program to all of LAZ Nation, not just the Home Office. Thank you, Claire, for making a difference in the Wellness of the LAZ employees and making Movement Monday accessible for everyone! And good news LAZ Nation! After a long break, Movement Mondays will return on Monday, September 11th!
August is and we are celebrating by recognizing some of our employees who have made a difference in the Wellness of our LAZ Family! First up is Dane Nielsen! In February of 2020, Dane started sending out "Morning Mojo" emails as a way to help his team stay positive in a scary time. These emails are quotes, articles, stories, or anything that may inspire others to keep going. His new favorite inspiration comes from being a new dad to his daughter, Isla Jade. What started as a small distribution list of his direct reports, has turned into a following of hundreds of employees! Dane's Morning Mojo emails demonstrate the spirit that we love! Thank you, Dane!
Where in the world is Parker? Chicago! Parker made an appearance at the Life Church Midwest back-to-school event for community residents in need! There were family activities, and complimentary haircuts to get the kids ready for a new school year. LAZ Parking hosted a table where we gave away backpacks filled with essential school supplies for the students. We gave away 200 backpacks! for Parker and our Chicago team making a difference in their community!
Cynthia Pineda, we just have to RAVE about you! Cynthia is currently the Airport Parking Manager at Long Beach Airport, with 14 years of airport parking experience, the last six being with LAZ Parking. Cynthia has been an invaluable member of the LAZ family, having also supported our team on special projects and task forces for Cross Border Xpress (CBX), Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Nashville International Airport (BNA). Thank you, Cynthia for all you do!
Hey LAZ Nation, meet Leslie Luna! Leslie is our awesome Senior Operations Manager of the Commercial Division in San Diego! Leslie started her career with LAZ as a cashier at the Children's Hospital in San Diego twenty years ago and now, she oversees twelve locations throughout San Diego and one in Hawaii! In her twenty years with LAZ, she found the most memorable moment being when she attended the Amplify Symposium for female leaders at LAZ, earlier this year. Leslie felt this event was inspirational and had a lasting impact on her.
Outside of work, Leslie loves being outdoors, whether it's on the beach, in the mountains, or in her own backyard! Something most people don't know about Leslie? She is terrified of cats! Leslie defines success as coming to work every day and enjoying what you do, as well as helping others achieve their career potential. When asked what the best advice she has received, Leslie responded, "The best advice I’ve ever received was from a good friend of mine that simply said, 'Don’t sell yourself short, sell yourself tall.' We often doubt ourselves and don’t advocate for ourselves because we’re afraid that we’re asking too much. We need to believe in ourselves, in our skills, and in our abilities." We are so proud of all Leslie has accomplished at LAZ and are so grateful to have her as a role model to other rising leaders in San Diego! for Leslie!
Today is a very special day, it is Tebby Goshime's 35th anniversary with LAZ Parking! Pictured here with his very first manager, Managing Partner, and Executive Vice President, Robert DeBurro as they celebrate the occasion! Tebby was the very first Hall of Fame inductee in 2009 as a LAZ employee who exemplifies every day! Founder and President, Jeff Karp says, "I am honored and awed by Tebby's years of partnership but more importantly to call him a friend and partner." Thank you, Tebby for your 35 years of service! And can we take a moment to appreciate the group photo? This team has a combined total of 218 years of parking experience!
Stephanie Barnes, our Vice President of Healthcare Services joined the National Parking Association's Women in Parking Mentor Program this year and was introduced to a female leader from Flash Parking. After many conversations about professional development and women in leadership, they hit it off and decided to meet in person! They both live in Ohio and Stephanie gave her a tour to meet our amazing leaders at University Hospitals! It was a great meeting of fabulous, female leaders! As a founding member of the LAZ Amplify committee, Stephanie is no stranger to empowering female leadership in the parking world and we could not be prouder!

Hey LAZ Nation, meet Tiffany Smith! Tiffany joined the LAZ family in August of 2022 as the General Manager in Chicago overseeing the Commercial Portfolio. Her responsibilities include client relationships and creating opportunities for our employees by coaching and motivating them to give 100% and her favorite part of the job is that she gets to connect with different people on a daily basis. Tiffany is also proud to be the Diversity Equity + Inclusion Champion for the Chicago Group. Outside of work, Tiffany loves spending time with her son, family, and friends and you may not know this, but she is a great cook! When asked how she defines success, she said "To me success is not only doing consistent work and thriving for the best result possible, but as a leader, being able to encourage your team to be the best version of themselves". And the best advice she has ever received? "There is no such thing as I can’t, only I won’t. Make an effort, set your goals, and work hard to achieve them!" Tiffany truly lives and we are proud to have her as part of the LAZ Family! for Tiffany!

Our Colorado team has an annual sponsorship with Amp the Cause, and as a community outreach effort, they helped the charity, Family Tree, at one of their safe houses for women and children.
They painted, organized, cleaned, made dinner for the residents as well as fixed up the outdoor space. for our Colorado team for making a difference in their community!

This month, our employees at the JW Marriott and One Hotel in Nashville, TN completed the LAZ Valet Safety Certification Driving Program. This comprehensive course can be difficult, but we are proud of the group's engagement, attention to detail, and great questions. The best part, everyone passed!

Hey LAZ Nation, meet Florezel Jose! Florezel joined the LAZ family in May of 2021 and was recently promoted to Portfolio Manager, overseeing the municipal contracts in the Los Angeles region. Her most memorable moment with LAZ thus far was attending the Women's Symposium sponsored by the DE&I and Amplify committees. Visiting the Home Office and meeting the other female leaders in the company was uplifting and encouraging and made her glad to be part of a company that really cares about its employees! Outside of work, Florezel enjoys cooking and hosting parties! When asked what is the best advice she has ever received, she answered, "Everything happens for a reason. You may not know it, but later on, you’ll realize that everything that happens to you, the good and the bad, makes you who you are as a person." Duckworth Regional School is a school for children with disabilities, and here we have members of our Mid-Atlantic team participating in their "Challenge Day," where all students participate in various games, cheered on by their teachers, family, and members of the community. Hi LAZ Nation, meet Andy Cushman! Andy has been with the LAZ family since 1998 as a college student looking for a flexible schedule but stayed because of the people he gets to work with and the friends he has made! Andy is a rockstar in the parking industry and was recently promoted to Director of Business Development for our Healthcare Services team. Andy says he knew he was working at the right company when he attended his first LAZ Family Reunion and was consumed by the comradery and fun tales of parking cars with great people. In his free time, Andy enjoys spending time with his family, road trips, and driving his Jeep off-road! Andy is a team player, and when asked how he defines success, he said, "For me, I get a sense of success when I am able to assist or make connections that allow others to reach new heights." The best advice Andy has ever received? "You are in full control of how you decide to show up to work every day." We love that advice and are so thrilled to have Andy on our team! for Andy and his success at LAZ Parking!

Hey LAZ Nation, meet Sirak Legesse! Sirak is our General Manager of Norwalk, Connecticut and started with LAZ in 2001. Sirak started with us as a part-time flagger and has held many operational positions in his 22 years! Outside of work, Sirak collects stamps, likes to take late night walks, and above all else, spend time with his daughter (pictured with him here)!
