Even after years of working with Porsche engines, I learned something new from this one, and I think most Porsche owners will too.

They dig into bore scoring, used oil analysis, engine wear, and why looking at trends over multiple oil changes can tell you far more than a single sample. Lake also explains what elevated iron, aluminum, and silicon can reveal about what is happening inside an engine.

It took us years to develop the IMS Solution. Besides OTR and dyno testing, two tests stand out- torture testing with 0w20 with the engine nearly in overheat condition followed by 5200 cold start tests. The wear was nearly impossible to measure, but for an added margin of safety, we added self-lubricating friction reducing coatings to further improve the performance of the IMS Solution. That's why there's only one IMS Solution.

When you really need to digitize an entire part, it's nice to have a Verisurf CMM and Hexegon laser scanner handy. And don't forget the can of athlete's foot spray. That's a must.
