Southern Raceway Southern Raceway is a 3/8 mile dirt oval with some of the finest short track racing in the South. Gates open at 4:00 PM on race day, racing starts at 7:00 PM.

Come enjoy a line up most Saturdays from March through November that includes Pure Stock, NeSmith Street Stock, Vintage & Open Wheel Modified. Plus we offer Sprint Car Special Events and Late Model racing on select nights throughout the season. We accept Visa & Mastercard at our ticket window. Concessions are cash only.

There’s a lot broken around here right now, and it’s hard to find the words to describe how we’re feeling. Hurricane Isaias didn’t just hit our track... it hit our town and the surrounding region hard.

We know many people in our community, including some of our racers, fans, and employees, are dealing with far worse. Our hearts are with y’all as we all try to figure out what comes next.

There’s a long road ahead for our track and our community. Y’all take care of yourselves and each other. We’ll work through this together. ❀️🏁

We made it out to Southern Raceway to assess the hurricane damage, and it’s tough to see our track like this. The damage is significant, and we have an extensive cleanup and rebuilding process ahead of us.

First and foremost, all of our family is safe. Our homes made it through with varying degrees of damage, but nothing we can’t fix or replace. We’re incredibly thankful for that.

We don’t yet know how long it will take to get the track back in shape or what this means for our upcoming events. We’re still taking it all in and figuring out where to start. We’ll keep everyone updated as we get a clearer picture.

To our racers, fans, neighbors, and everyone dealing with the aftermath of this storm: we’re going through this right alongside you. We know many of you are looking at damage to your own homes and businesses and facing the same uncertainties we are.

This community means so much to our family, and we’re grateful to be part of it. Take care of yourselves and each other as we all work through what comes next. There’s a lot of work ahead, but we’ll take it one day at a time. ❀️ 🏁

Due to Tropical Storm Isaias in the Gulf and its potential impacts on our area, this weekend’s races at Southern Raceway have been canceled. We want our fans, racers, and staff to have time to prepare and focus on their families’ safety.

We are currently exploring potential dates to make up our Season Championship races. However, any rescheduled event will not be a points race. We do not feel it would be fair to extend the points season beyond its originally scheduled end date when drivers may have other plans and obligations that prevent them from attending a makeup event.

We’re disappointed we won’t get to close out the points season together as planned, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding. We’ll share an update on a possible makeup date when we have more information.

We’re out here working on the racetrack after last weekend’s rain, and yes… we’re keeping an eye on the forecast too! πŸ‘€

As of now, Season Championship Weekend is ON as planned for this Friday and Saturday, October 9–10 at Southern Raceway! πŸ†

We really want to get these races in, but we also want to be smart about the weather. We’re giving the forecast a little more time to develop, and we’ll let y’all know if anything changes.

William Tirrell (19) leads the standings with a 23-point advantage over his father Bill Tirrell (65). William is in control, but with DOUBLE POINTS on the line, Dad is still within striking distance if the door opens!

Bill needs to finish at least 12 positions ahead of William in Saturday’s feature to move ahead in points. That gives William a solid cushion, but he still needs to finish the season strong to keep the championship in his hands.

Ricky Haugen (12) sits third, 41 points back, followed by Autumn Hull (13) at 56 back and Jerry Bohlman (43) at 78 back. All three will look to finish their points season on a high note and bring home a Season Championship feature trophy!

It’s SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK at Southern Raceway! πŸ† We’re crowning our 2026 points champions THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, October 9–10! Throughout the week, we’ll break down each division’s points battle, starting with Late Model Sportsman.

Headlining FRIDAY NIGHT’S program with a $1,000-TO-WIN show, the Late Model Sportsman division has a tight championship battle with just SEVEN POINTS separating leader Osman Jones (9) and challenger Kody Cook (20). Nick Cuevas (31) sits 24 points back with an outside shot if the front two have any trouble in Friday's feature.
