Well folks there is a bad forecast of snakes around here for this years racing.
You may catch one around the Southeastern non wing Clown series that will be racing at Southern Raceway and Dothan.
Seems this ridiculous bunch have come in and made a s**tshow of Wingless Sprintcar racing in this area.
As everyone knows I started this idea all by myself and had help with Ricky Beasley and James Moore on setting the rules up first.
Then after many hours of talking to professional folks that race these cars and about how to make the rules fair so I can pull cars, because we have none in this area, it has all gone to hell.
So after 2 years of nurturing this series and I called it a series because, like I said there are no cars in this area, but we have 5 tracks in the area that the locals race at, so I wanted to make it like a series where it could grow to each track and have a standardized set of rules.
Tom at Southern was against anything but Southern, that's where he wanted the cars to stay. Now he has a deal with Dothan.
My thinking is why can't we grow to be just like the latemodels, modifieds, streetstock, etc?
I mean they all run under a series set of rules and name so why can't Sprintcars?
So originally we started out looking at just a 602 crate but after Rush running them for a few years it is known that they don't last well with alcohol, the 604 is a much better choice for alcohol and we are only talking 50 hp difference, 70 maybe on a sweetened one.
So then I began to see where these other series other than here run very successfully with different engine combinations and have the stagger rule. 105' medium RR and a 94" medium LR Simple enough, everyone run a medium tire, saves money to the teams and you can get piles of takeoffs at these big races.
So after researching engine combo's I came up with 4 engines to run and anything else on the stagger rule to bring cars in. They are all hitting about the 450 to 475 hp mark.
I had a 602 weigh 1450 # and the lightest weight of the combo's as it only has about 375 to 400 to a sweetened up one and I was told 1 # per HP to even them out so I gave it 150 # weight break.
Then with the 604 you had to weigh 1600 # and both crates on a 4 barrel.
Then we had a 5.3 stock internals with a 2 barrel and stock coil packs at around 450 hp by what the guy with the UMWSS said, and they run them successfully in the midwest.
Then last was the streetstock type Flat Top piston 50 # crank with a 500 lift cam and a 500 2 barrel any head and no dry sump. This is about 450 to 475 hp because you can't flow any more air to make it much more hp.
So then I had Scott Benic school me on how to handle the shock deal, he said the cheapest you can do is a non reservoir shock and put a claim rule on it and let that be it. He builds shocks for major teams so I trust what he said.
So everything else is basic Sprintcar accessories and you can pick up a good used chassis from 3 to 5 grand and with these engine combo's you should be able to put something together to run or buy a crate, many of us had stuff laying around we can utilize and race and not have to buy so much just to get started.
Sprintcars are abundant outside of this area and that is why I wanted to have options so we could marry it all together and have some fantastic racing.
But now enter the snakes!
After two years I have put many hours and time into helping racing in my area and have a class of cars that can continue our sport on in the future but nope can't do that anymore.
After all of my efforts and long hours of conversations with the many on this page that feel like I do about Wingless Sprintcar racing came to an end.
You see I didn't know I was in bed with a snake at both tracks and then another one that was supposed to be a partner and came in to help with the page and he never wrote any rules or set any rules, he just copied and pasted what I spent all this time putting together, but now he claims he did the rules, that is a lie!
This snake is the worst of all because I trusted him to represent us and the series at Dothan and he couldn't do that, but what he could do is bad mouth me and my idea to a friend and it got back to me so he is a spineless snake.
I was told what went on and the other snake run me under the bus and just talked crap all night about me and this joke of a series.
Well it wasn't too much of a joke because they started one after I cut ties with them because what do I need with those types of people in my circle.
So after all that the Southern snake has a meeting at the first of the season and after we debated it was agreed we were running my rules till mid season and Tom wanted to change the rules to just a two engine option but agreed to run ours first so we could pull cars in, ( because we have none here).
So I set the rules as he wishes and the only thing I did change was the 5.3 because they were crying about it being able to be cheated up and no way to tech it so I changed them to the stagger rule, I have several that run the 5.3 and didn't make sense to cut them out because they can run with us too.
So we set sail and have a series started at Southern and using my rules.
This was all well and dandy till the partner snake decides he can do a better job, he can't, he is just good at running his mouth. So many of them today in racing!
So he decides to go to Tom, the Southern snake and I guess they just w**d me out and start this stuff about 2 engine options, the 602 and the open streetstock type and they announce it on the show he does, turn my stomach live at 5.
Everyone in their circle, all 4 approve this. Everyone in my circle doesn't and caused a wave that they saw I was right and the only way to build and get cars is run my rules because they are competitive.
So now we have Snake Fake Bowen, Rattlesnake Tom at Southern and last but not important is Alaconda that runs Dothan Speedway think they can run this successfully when they don't even know how to interpret the rules because they were mine, all mine, came from my head and not theirs.
Their rules ran everyone off so they flip flop back and forth and Tom has 4 guys rattling in his ear 602 only, well that's dumb in my opinion, the engines don't hold up and many have proven that with troubles.
Then you have the stupidstar over there that don't know the engine is blowing up and is rattling all the way around the track during hot laps and Billy could hear it over his engine and helmet on.
Yea he is that magnificent among other things he does that people see.
I have built all this up for them to just come in and kick me and all my followers to the curb and now they want you to join in in their glorious new series they started and came up with.
I don't do business with snakes and shady folks so you make the call and doesn't matter to me one bit anymore because all this I put together to help racing and give these younger guys something that is the baddest machine on the planet to race with.
This is the thanks I get from them all at both of those SNAKEPITS and the help I tried to give to these people.
Everyone wants to know what's wrong with racing, I can surely tell you, this is what is wrong with racing.
The people are what have ruined it, we used to have dignity, respect, morals, honor, pride and you could trust a man on his word and handshake.
Not any more, those days are gone and this younger crowd wasn't taught that and it shows in situations like this.
I will leave this up so all of my friends and family know the real deal and why all of a sudden I said to hell with it and rather be out the pass on my 23 ft. Mako and my 12 year old grandson pulling in some grouper.
There is no snakes out there and you can certainly enjoy life better than arguing and get in a pi***ng match over something I created.
I appreciate all of you and the two years we have talked and built this, I try to help everyone I can but this time I just choose to do better things in life and it's been a lot of fun and met some extraordinary people on here and I thank you for your time and efforts.
Maybe one day racing will be great again and they will cut the heads off all these snakes running around!
