Summer looks a little different for us these days.

After five years of full-time RV travel, we’ve learned that we actually LOVE slowing down in the summer.

Instead of moving every few days and trying to see all the things, we stay put a little longer and give our kids the chance to just be kids—to join activities, learn something new and have a little bit of that traditional summer experience.

For our girls, that has meant swim lessons and art classes 🎨🏊‍♀️
For our son, it has meant LOTS and LOTS of time at the rink playing hockey. 🏒😂

And honestly, I love this season of RV life.

One of my biggest RV tips after all these years? You don’t have to travel fast just because your home has wheels.

Slow down. Stay somewhere for a while. Find the local library. Sign the kids up for a class. Join a sports program. Meet people. Let your kids build friendships.

Some of our favorite memories from RV life haven’t come from checking another state off the map—they’ve come from simply living life wherever we happen to be parked. ❤️

The adventures will still be there when summer is over. And trust me… we have plenty more coming. 😉🚐

My #1 piece of advice if you have children and want to live full-time in an RV? Create a space for EACH child that feels like their own. 🤍

After five years on the road, we’ve learned that it doesn’t have to be BIG—it just needs to be theirs.

A spot for their favorite stuffed animals, special books, little treasures they’ve collected along the way, and most importantly, a comfortable space they can retreat to when they need a little time to themselves.

Our bunkhouse has had SO many variations over the years 😂 As the kids have grown, their needs have changed and we’ve rearranged it more times than I can count. But one thing has never changed: each of them has a space that belongs to them.

And BONUS… I absolutely LOVE decorating their spaces for every holiday and season! 🍂🎃🤎 I’m already dreaming about our fall bunkhouse makeover!
