Just a little shovelhead head work.
I’ll tell you what , we aren’t one to throw others under the bus, but this sh*ts getting ridiculous. We won’t be ordering another Thunderheader. For the past few years (maybe more) every time we buy a header it’s not been QC’d properly and their customer service absolutely sucks. They dropped the ball on their RND and could care less. This pipe is the latest of bs they have produced.
1. Heat shields were scratched in packing.
Fix: they may send us a new one. (Under review).
2. Didn’t make it so it clears the rear foot peg. We were told to drill a hole lower in the bracket. This offsets the passengers feet left to right.
Fix: ground the peg mount down and re painted it, also notched the heat shield.
3. They didn’t clean the welds in the rear O2 sensor hole and left a tab of metal blocking the hole.
Fix: punch down the hole and grind weld inside of hole so O2 sensor will clear. Re-tap threads.
4. Muffler hits the stock bracket where stock rear muffler use to mount.
Fix: cut bracket and painted
5. Can’t seem to weld worth s sh*t either. Rear exhaust had bad exhaust leak. After taking pipe on and off a few times we found they didn’t weld the flange all the way around straight.
Fix: welded it correctly.
We are no longer a Thunderheader dealer, by our choice, The End!
I never understood why Harley always installs the stock cam plate a small oil pump in their performance bikes/Sceamin Eagles. This one had a pinched o-ring from the manufacturer and 22,000 miles lost a lifter which destroy the cam and so on. We just upgraded cam plate, oil pump, pushrods with the same SE255 cams for our customer.
Happy Veterans Day!
Have a GREAT weekend. See ya at work Monday lol.
Never Forget...

Lots of crazy stuff going on in the world today!
.....so enjoy this sweet FXR
2013 SE Limited. Woods .650 lift cam, woods valve springs, woods directional prowler lifters, .010 over 10.1-1 pistons, rocker lockers, 4 new valves, S&S cam plate and oil pump, and a welded flywheel assembly. This thing screams!
Time to rebuild the ole 65 Pan. She runs strong but smokes like a redneck diesel truck. Can’t wait for Paul Reithmayer to work his magic. This will be the first time the engine has been out of the frame since it was chopped in 1974. I am the 5th owner with a legit chain of documented paper trail. The man who chopped it in 1974 in New York is still alive, 86 years young, and now lives in Lake Havasu. The man I purchased it from just recently passed at 75 years old. I bugged him for many years to let me own this bike.
Another beautiful build. Panhead style engine. STD cases but still very nice.
Finished up Leo Gomes bar job today on his new Low Rider. What a smooth machine and it’s a lot more comfortable now.
56 Panhead rebuild with STD cases. New rod bearings, and cages, balance flywheels, cam and lifters, head work etc. Gonna be a sweet one when done. Trans and SU carb for same build to follow.
Riddle me a RIDLEY. These were built by a father son team in the early 2000’s. Believe they went Chapter 13 for trade mark problems. I don’t recall if someone else picked up the parts end of it or not. This one came in with a clogged carburetor from sitting. Oh by the way, it’s an automatic.
Customer, “ my bike wobbles in a curve” Me, “ oh sh*t!
Fresh EVO Friday. Putting in our rebuilt engine in Mike’s Softail. His has a very loud knock in it. Ours has been completely rebuilt with rods and balanced flywheels, pistons and cam.
2019 Roadglide 114, Woods 777 .480 cam, S&S tappet guides, quickie push rods, upgraded stud kit for the rocker arm bosses, fueling cam plate and oil pump kit plus a tune.
🇺🇲
2016 FXSB (Breakout). Took all the chrome powder coated black, repainted tins, cams Woods 777, tuned and a bar job. Turned out nice. 23” custom front wheel with matching rotors being made as we speak. Here is some before and after pics.
How do you know your getting the full potential out of your bike? Did you know simply adding exhaust and/or intake can change how much fuel you need and will require tuning? We can help, Fuel Injected models and the good ol' Carburetors! Call us today. 480 357 7595
More progress on the 69.... Figured we would have more time to get more done on the bike with the "King Flu" shutdowns, but after having to rebuild the top end from a broken rocker, and being slammed with work, here's the progress. Thanks to everyone who have been supporting us through these tough times, we appreciate it!

These ole Troubleheads. One step forward, two steps back. Idling this morning pretty as you please and a snap and a pop and no more runny run run. Broken rocker arm, bent pushrod, 2 bent valves and cracked guides. Shiiiiit man!
Finally....wrecked and sitting for years. First start up in, gosh 8 or 9 years, lost track honestly. Last 9 months been moving right along on the reconstruction. Kinda bittersweet, I have a major front base gasket leak after I got it warmed up. Pretty bummed, o well. Glad I don’t have tanks etc on already. Lesson boys and girls, fire em up before they are completely together, lol.
The hits just keep coming for Fred. Sorry brother. HD used a double row bearing in all 6 speed transmissions from 2007-2009 that had it’s ball bearings secured in place by plastic cages, cause it’s cheaper. Well they fail quite often. They have since updated to a single row with larger ball bearings.
Removed a shoddy air suspension from a Tri-Glide in favor of Legends shocks designed just for a trike. Very nice install with a lifting bracket to raise the suspension an extra inch or so. The third picture shows the clearance of the collapsed jack we used to lift the trike. It had to be forced under the frame when we started.
Hope everyone is getting in some quality ride time with little to no traffic!
🏁
PS: We are still open Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm, and still staying very busy, so schedule an appointment ahead of time please!
This one is craaazy. When Big Fred breaks sh*t he does it up right!
We had the pleasure of fine tuning this beautiful first year, 1970 nose cone Shovel. This girl just absolutely purrs and rides fabulous. The ole dude who scored this found it in a bike museum in Connecticut and had one years ago and just had to have it.
As we navigate our way through the VIRUS we are committed to do our part to keep our customers and employees as safe as we possibly can. I will clean countertops often and areas that are open to the public. We intend to stay open until one of us gets sick and then I guess we will close. I am playing this by ear like everyone else. I wish you and your families the best. I realize that some of you may be laid off from your jobs also. I hope you will rebound quickly. Thank you John, Rob and Ben.
New look for the ole Pan. Sportster tank and black flake. Thanks for the splatter of flake DJ.
Please keep an eye on your brakes and tires regularly. Letting them get to this level of wear doesn’t just endanger yourself but everyone on the road around you. Be safe out there.
Another sweet bar job, passing lamps, and windshield for our new customer from Quartzite AZ. Thanks Jerry for your business and we are glad you’re happy.
1989 FXR. Nice motorcycle at a great price for an FXR. No tax or docs. Does not have a speedometer but the mileage on the title from 2014 was 50k. The owner has not ridden this bike a lot do too illness and injuries. In March of 2018 we did a complete top end job with new pistons. $4995
2000 Sportster Sport model. Adjustable front fork damping and rear cartridge shocks from the factory. Has the newer style brake calipers that were introduced in 2000. These were dual plugged heads also from the factory. Getting hard to find. 56000 miles and I’ve done the service on this bike since at least 2005. Priced for quick sale. No tax or docs. $3500 firm.

I don’t think it’s supposed to do this! This thing sounded like a freight train going down old tracks. A dealership’s top tech said it sounded normal to him omg.
Well finally put 3 miles on the ole Pan today before one of the overhead cylinder oil lines blew out and drenched us in oil. Found a cool replacement set on eBay, can’t wait. She was runnin good and gettin fun, insert bummer face here lol.
Mailman delivered me a cheap ole S&S Super B carb today off of eBay. Yea baby, less than 2 hours later with a couple of jets and a bowl gasket...
It lives. Damien’s FXR build. Needs some miles now. Figured he’d be pissed if I rolled out on it, what ya think? lol
Dyno today! Who can guess #s? We think it's a 107 ci.... 🇺🇸 #mainstreetmotorcycles #mainstreetmc #usedparts #harleyparts #mesa #arizona #forsale #harley #harleydavidson #repairshop #ftw #machineshop #forevertwowheels #engine #transmission #eastvalley #supportyourlocalshop #buildit
Just some interesting information. This combination spring pack and rotor is known to fail. This transmits a horrible rattle and shutter through the primary.
Feel Free to Share 1942 Harley Davidson Knucklehead. Customer brought her in to get her running for Barret-Jackson next month.... Beautiful bike, and one of the cleanest we've seen for that kind of age. Thanks Larry for trusting us with your bike!
