HYLTONS TRANSMISSION SERVICE - Hylton’s Transmission is a family-owned automotive repair shop and has been located in Mechanicsville, VA since 1992 delivering honest and professional automotive repair and maintenance services to Hanover/Mechanicsville and the surrounding Greater Richmond areas. The owners, Vernon & Cindy Hylton, and shop manager Jason, are committed to providing you with

quality car care at a fair price. We treat our customers like we would want to be treated. Taking care of your transmission early can go a long way in saving you money. Some TIPS in maintaining your vehicle: 1) make sure to check the fluid regularly OR if it runs hot because of stop & go traffic or hot weather; 2) the more a malfunctioning transmission is driven, the more money it will cost you; 3) before reversing directions make sure vehicle is at a complete stop; 4) don't rock your vehicle in sand or snow - dig it out or have it towed, both are less expensive than the damage caused by quick shifting; and 5) in cold weather, don't drive until the engine is warmed up so the fluid is at operating temperature. Watch for stains under the vehicle; early or late shifting and any early trouble sounds like clicking, buzzing, whining, clunking, etc. Fluid leaks are the main cause of transmission failure. Learn to spot leaks - check for fresh oil stains under the front center of the vehicle. Hylton's has always provided quality service to our customers at a fair price.
