The Blazavich Boy's Racing Team raced at Blanket Hill Speedway Saturday night for their fourth race of the season.
Colton Blazavich started the night off in his Hyper Racing 600 sprint. In the heat he started in P3 and finished in P2 making the top 2 redraw. After the redraw Colton would start the feature in the P4 position. Colton had a decent start running in the P3 spot until getting spun out in turn 3 unfortunately sending him and the other car to the rear. Colton would then have to battle to try to work his way back up through the pack on a slick with not a lot of passing track. He ended up bringing home a 5th place finish. Not his best by far and quite a disappointing race. Onto next week.
Austin pulled double duty again this weekend between travel baseball games and racing his Hyper Racing 600 Sprint. Austin started in P5 directly behind his brother for the heat. He had a few issues with the car not running finishing the heat in P5 out of 6. During intermission we fixed the tps and replaced inejctors hoping that was the problem with the car not running correctly. For the feature Austin would line up in the P9 position. On a super slick with not a lot of passing track this kid ran consistent laps producing the fastest laps in the feature and running in the P3 spot for quite a few laps battling for his spot. Unfortunately, Austin got under the 2nd place car in turn 2, braked, and ended up spinning himself out. Starting in the back again with only a few laps to go he was able to pass a few cars finishing in 8th. Not what we were hoping for but a positive for his 4th time out with the adults. A lot to learn, but each week showing more confidence in himself and more consistency. Onto next week.
Not quite how we wanted our racing season to start off. We will work hard this week to get the cars running and ready for next week! On a positive Austin was able to meet one of the greats Ben Roethlisberger at his travel baseball tournament so that made his weekend!
