Hey everyone, I wanted to give you all an update on Michael and how he’s doing after his surgery on Tuesday. Going into this surgery, we truly didn’t know what the outcome would be. The doctors weren’t sure if Michael would receive his permanent hip or if he would need another antibiotic spacer. Even though he hadn’t shown signs of infection recently, everything he has gone through over the past year meant the final decision could only be made once the surgeon actually got inside the joint.

We are so relieved and grateful to share that Michael came out of surgery with his new permanent hip. This is such a huge milestone. For about a year now, he hasn’t been able to put weight on his right leg and has spent most of that time in a wheelchair. Now he can finally begin the slow, steady process of rebuilding his strength and taking those first baby steps toward walking again.

This journey has been incredibly long and incredibly hard for him. From the initial surgery back in January 2025, to the revision surgery in June, to months of pain, setbacks, and fighting to be heard, Michael has shown me strength I didn’t even know was possible. He has pushed through some of the most painful moments and never stopped fighting.

Even though the journey isn’t over and he still has a lot of work ahead to rebuild muscle and recover from this major surgery, we are finally on the downhill side of this long battle. He will still be in the hospital for the next few days getting the rest and care he still needs.

Michael Update:
We’re so happy to share that Michael is finally home!
After a long wait, he was able to get an MRI, which revealed that his entire leg, including the bone, is severely inflamed. The doctors explained that this could be a sign of his body possibly rejecting the implant, but thankfully, all imaging shows that the implant itself hasn’t shifted or loosened.
Right now, it’s a bit of a waiting game. The inflammation may heal on its own, or in time, it may lead to complications that we’ll need to address. For now, we remain hopeful and are taking things one day at a time.
We kindly ask for your continued patience and support as Michael focuses on healing. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, prayed, and stood by us through this, your kindness means the world!

Michael update:
We are going on day 6 of being in the hospital still looking at being in there until this Wednesday possibly. Michael is doing good and working everyday with his team of therapist to gain movement back in his leg. Thank you everyone for your patience with Blue collar customs and all our friends and family who have been checking on us. Michael is in great spirits and he is planning on coming out of the hospital ready to move mountains. He’s still moving slow, but making progress and working hard every day!! Hey everyone wanted to give you an update on Michael and how he is doing. Michael is currently downtown at the VA hospital, working with physical therapy to regain movement in his leg. He’s expected to be there for one to two weeks, depending on how he responds to treatment. We’re taking things one day at a time and appreciate your thoughts and support.

Hey everyone this is Lindsay, Mikes wife. I’m writing to let you know that Mike is currently in the hospital, he is okay, but needs some time to heal and get back on his feet. He is recovering from a full right hip replacement he received in January and the recovery process has been very rough for the last 3 months. He is receiving care through the VA, which is slow, but just needs some time to heal. He’ll be back to work as soon as he’s able. We appreciate your understanding. In the meantime if you need anything please leave a message on the shop phone and we will do our best to get back with you.
