Mythbuster Wednesday: “You can tell how your brakes are doing by the noise they make.”

Not really. Some pads wear down quietly with no warning at all. And on the flip side, performance and semi-metallic pads can squeal even when they’re in great shape. Noise alone doesn’t tell the whole story, an inspection does.

This Lexus is getting fresh rotors and pads at our Tomball shop today, and it’ll stop like new.

This one came in leaking today. The gasket itself is under $100. But look at the photo. Everything around that pan has to come off just to reach it. Cheap part, big job.

Nothing actually. This is what it takes to fix the AC on a Chevy Express. The ENTIRE dash has to come out just to reach it.

When we say this Mazda has been sitting a while… we mean it grew its own landscaping. 🌿

Every so often a customer brings us a project car with one question: is it worth putting back on the road?

This one has been parked for YEARS. Long enough for vines to move in under the rear suspension. We pulled a whole handful out before it even went up on the lift.

Now comes the fun part: full inspection. Fuel system, brakes, tires, fluids, and everything rubber that time loves to eat.

Be honest. Is your steering wheel actually straight when you’re driving down the road?

You let go for a second and the car drifts right, or the wheel sits a little cockeyed even when you’re going perfectly straight. Most people just live with it.

This Jetta came in for an alignment, and that little drift is exactly what it fixes. Left alone, it scrubs your tires unevenly and can cost you a full set way before their time.
