2023 Volkswagen Taos with just 60,000 miles came in with concerns of coolant loss and possible head gasket failure.
After diagnosis and teardown, we confirmed the head gasket had failed. Unfortunately, the issue didn't stop there. The turbocharger had also suffered damage and required replacement.
Modern engines are becoming increasingly complex. The photo shown isn't a traditional timing setup with marks and paint pens. The electronic level is a special tool used to precisely position components and set engine timing during reassembly. On today's engines, accuracy is critical, and even small deviations can affect performance, emissions, and reliability.
Whether it's a simple maintenance service or a major engine repair, proper diagnosis and following manufacturer procedures make all the difference.
