Building cars takes a lot of work and lots of patience. However when folks that push to the end it’s alway great getting messages like this. Robert had us build this car several years ago. Like all things the subject faded once it was done and we haven’t heard from him in a while. We often talked about his car and that we hoped he was having fun with it. Then we got a message last week. What a great feeling to all of us at the shop when we hear great things like this.

Had it out to willow 8 times and chuckwalla at least that many.

What do lowering blocks do?

Lowering blocks lower the rear end of your car. This can lower the center of gravity, allowing you to take turns faster and more confidently.

But there’s one problem. There’s little to no lowering blocks built specifically for mustangs, that’s why MMI designed a set of our own built for Fords. They’re set apart by a couple key features.

- Two degree pinion wedge to better align the driveline
- 1/2” top alignment pins to fit Ford models specifically
- Lateral key design on 1” lowering blocks to give you an opportunity to center your rear end housing under your wheel wells

The big mid season SCCA spring nationals in Nebraska is over. Making it out to this event was special. We got the chance to race all the great racers mid season to see how we stack up before we try to make the treck out in the fall. Like always the Lewis fox body was way fast. We got a jump on them the first day by .8. The second day Robert had great speed but unfortunately had several cones on his fast lap. This combined with a failing clutch didn’t help his efforts. All the while the Frank Stagnaro’s MMi mustang kept lap down solid laps. This was the goal for us. Feel out the new front suspension on the unique Nebraska surface. Ultimately Frank was a great co driver for the race giving key feedback for the upcoming laps . After we got the win in CP Brianne had her first drive in Nebraska since 2015. Of course like always she gets the worst conditions. One dry day and one wet nasty day. This was again very important. Rain practice with the new front end, fogged up windows and rain tires with the occasional tidal wave in the face. Mick Maier tagged along and in true CP fashion some of the “OG’s” stepped up and offered him a drive. Having fun and getting new old friends is what it’s all about. And we could not have done this without all the support and help from the Stagnaro Family. Frank, Barbara, Buddy, and Liz are rad. Can’t wait to see everyone in the fall. .performance

Another fun experience with Old Blue. Passing along the good vibes of an old school experience with the next generation. Lily Maier had her best friend Alana Mckee co drive this last weekend with here at the SCCA national tour at Crows Landing. Lily was there to help Alan along with learning about driving a carburetor and Old Blues quirks. Then they were off and running. Although naturally a quiet person Alana commented about how easy it was to recover the car in middle of a slide. Based on the grin on her face and the lack of prodding to get her back in the seat the second day it was a great success. We are super proud of the girls getting elbows up in an old school Mustang. We sure hope they co drive Old Blue again soon together. .performance

Mike Maier has been making shock tower braces for the first gen Mustangs for over 30 years now. The old school Monte Carlo bar was the first thing his dad had him weld up for production when he was twelve years old. So with that being said it’s been even longer.
