BREAKING: Pennsylvanians discover camping is just drinking in the woods with a mortgage attached. After spending six months waiting for the perfect weekend, families across the state are loading up $60,000 campers with $800 worth of food and enough beer to survive a minor national emergency.

The trip begins peacefully. Chairs come out. The fire gets started. Someone cracks a drink at 11:14 a.m. because “we’re camping,” which is apparently a legally recognized Pennsylvania time zone. Within two hours, the neighbors wander over. By sunset, complete strangers have compared hometowns, jobs, high school football teams, property taxes, divorces, and every decent pizza place within 40 miles.

Then comes the inevitable breakthrough.
“Wait… you know Jimmy from Scranton?” Of course they do. By Saturday night, nobody remembers which campsite belongs to who. There are 17 people around one fire, four different coolers, somebody’s uncle grilling sausage at midnight, and one guy named Dave who has somehow been invited to Thanksgiving.

Sunday morning arrives with everyone looking like they fought a bear, promising to book the same weekend next year, and exchanging phone numbers with people they’ve known for 38 hours.
Nobody came for the outdoors. They came to drink for three days and discover they have six mutual friends.

Pennsylvania camping remains undefeated.
