SPEED PERF6RMANC3 was started by two Mazda master technicians who shared the same passion for pushing the Mazdaspeed 3/6 platform as far as they could. Our day to day experience of repairing the entire line of Mazda vehicles has given us exclusive insight into the inner workings of the MZR motor that no one else could ever learn on their own. We have built 20+ motors that are supporting MOST of th

e community’s highest HP cars. We strive to use only the best parts out there and when we find a part to have a weak link, we go back to the drawing board to redesign it to handle more HP and more abuse in order to push the limit even further. We work very closely with a select few machine shops that are owned by world renowned engine builders. This gives us the ability to both ensure the highest quality machining is met and to improve on every motor we do based on 75+ years of combined experience in the racing industry. We stand behind everything we do and nothing is more important to us than customer satisfaction.

Got the ST wrapped up with the ATP GTX2867 install and tuned.
Put down 346whp / 370wtq before reaching the knock limit.

Anything beyond this, cylinder-to-cylinder ignition wasn’t consistent - some cylinders were able to carry more timing while others peaked lower and began pulling timing up top. Because of that, we kept it at this power level.

Overall the car is healthy. Torque was kept in check to keep this motor reliable instead of chasing a number.

Beautiful Mazdaspeed 3/6 MZR Stage 2 Engine getting picked up today along with its “brother”.

This customer has showed a lot of support purchasing multiple engines from us and we’re grateful for him 💪.

Customer dropped off his Focus ST to diagnose a System Too Lean code.

Upon checking, we noticed exhaust leaking past the clamp going to the downpipe. We called the customer to explain how this can cause a lean condition at idle and he approved the repair.

While starting the job and removing the turbo heat shield, we found a big ol crack on the turbo adapter for his EFR turbo. That was the main culprit for the fuel trims at idle.

We got him situated with an ATP GTX2867 that arrived today and it will be getting installed and sending the customer on his way.
