Meet our 4 newest customers! 😀

Over the past couple weeks, every time I walked out the back door, a robin would dive-bomb me. I kept thinking, “What in the world is going on?” Turns out, she had built her nest right in between some equipment out back.

After the eggs hatched, every morning we’d go out to check on the babies, and one would be missing. So we’d look around until we found it on the ground. I’d put gloves on and place the baby right back in the nest.

Last Thursday, she dropped the baby in the gravel driveway behind the shop—the same area where we move cars in and out. Luckily, we found it, or it would’ve been smashed. Once again, on went the gloves, and back in the nest the baby went.

And guess what????? After the 3rd save, she hasn’t kicked any more babies out since. I guess she finally got tired of us putting it back and decided to just deal with it. 😀

This morning I crept out there like a thief in the night , being very quiet, trying to peek thru the door crack and dern she heard me and flew out like a rocket. But I got my picture!

I later learned that the momma bird may remove a weaker baby as a natural survival instinct. But not at Perryman’s… we stepped in as “Mother Nature.”

As of today, all four little ones are safe and accounted for.

What a tweet story. 😀

When Purple Rain was written, Prince must’ve been thinking about Perryman’s… because it’s been ‘purple rain’ around here — three purple cars in one week, and that’s a first for us. 😀

John showed up with a super nice and extremely clean Dodge Charger. She’s aligned up and ready to cruise the roads.

Thank you, John, for your repeat business! 😀

All of us at Perryman’s are saddened over the fire in downtown Lexington and the loss of 4 businesses — Bagels on Main, Shoto’s, The Candy Factory, and Main Street Pizza & Deli.

We just had Shoto’s and Main Street Pizza & Deli for lunch last week — meatball subs, steak and cheese subs, teriyaki chicken… delicious! The Candy Factory had the best milk toffee and caramel turtle candies, and the second you walked in the door you were hit with the smell of fresh popcorn popping in that old-time machine. And Bagels on Main — yummy soft bagels, friendly service, and a family favorite for so many people. The turkey/avocado sandwich-Wow! 😀

A lot of families have memories tied to those places. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the owners, employees, families, and everyone affected.

This would have to rank in the top five of the most well-maintained Camaros we’ve ever seen. This Camaro ZL1, packing a supercharged LT4 V8 with 650 horsepower, is absolutely spotless and cared for down to the smallest detail.

It’s so clean you feel like you should take your shoes off before getting in it. 😀

And just like the car itself, the young man behind the wheel couldn’t be any nicer.

When a 1996 K1500 checks in for an alignment with only 50,000 miles on the clock, still wearing all its original parts and spotlessly clean inside and out — looking like it just rolled straight out of the showroom — it deserves a Facebook post. 😀

Beep, beep!

Johnathan purchased this stunning 1969 Plymouth Road Runner three months ago, and it hasn’t been the same since—in a good way. Johnathan’s been twisting it up to make it his own.

Under that hood sits a 440 with a Six Barrel carb setup, and before Johnathan owned it, it had only been driven 800 miles in the past 12 years. Basically, it spent most of its time sitting like me at a Taco all-you-can-eat buffet bar.

When this Road Runner was introduced in 1969, it was considered a “street-legal drag racer” due to its exceptionally fast speed.

Originally, it was a father-and-son car. After the father passed away, the son decided it was time to let her go.

If Wile E. Coyote shows up looking for trouble, he better think twice—because this Road Runner is leaving nothing but a purple streak and a very confused Wile E. Coyote in the dust.

Thank you, Johnathan, for your repeat business! 😀

“This truck really ticks me off,” Joe’s wife says every time they climb in to go anywhere.

Joe just shakes his head and tells me, “I don’t get it — everybody else loves my truck, but my wife can’t stand it.” 😂

Joe is the second owner of this orange crush 1970 Chevrolet C10. He bought it from his neighbor’s sister, and it’s been part of his life ever since.

Most everything on the truck is still the same as it was back in the day, with the biggest changes being an automatic transmission and power steering. “Other than that, it’s still the same ole’ faithful truck.”

This C10 hauled Joe back and forth to his job at Thomasville Buses for, in his words, “for a long, long, long time,” and judging by the way he still drives it every day, it won’t be parking anytime soon.

Thank you J.T. for your repeat business!

After losing a bunch of pictures off my cell phone the other day, Doug stepped in and kindly sent me a photo of his classic so I could still share it with y’all. 😀

Doug bought this classic 1966 Plymouth Belvedere when he was just 15 years old in Denton, NC. Doug worked summer jobs to scrape together $1,000 and buy his classic cruiser.

The Belvedere sat parked for 22 years, but this year Doug brought it back to life and got it cruising the roads again like it was meant to.

Under the hood is the stock original 273 — not some wild powerhouse build, and Doug’s perfectly fine with that. He likes it being a nice cruiser: low and slow, smooth and simple.

Doug and his brother have also started a classic car club, keeping old-school classics and good memories rolling for the next generation.

Thank you Doug for your repeat business! 😀

We need air traffic clearance over here at Perryman’s, because we’ve got one way up in the air today. 😀

We grow ’em big here in Lexington, North Carolina.

This Ford F-250 is sitting so high, Ben can stand beside it and his head reaches the base of the fender well — just to give you a size reference on how tall this thing really is.”

Thank you Caleb for your repeat business!
