Summer's End Cruise-In The Summer’s End Cruise-In is an annual event held at the end of summer that benefits Lawrence, KS charities. It all starts at 10:00 a.m.

If Summer has to end, then the best way to say so long is at the Annual Summer’s End Cruise In and BBQ Battle, a benefit for Lawrence, KS Charities. Set ‘em up Jack’s brings you the ultimate classic car and truck show in Lawrence, Kansas along with a BBQ competition that attracts some of the best cooks in the area. This event is held annually on the second Saturday of September at Broken Arrow Park, 31st and Louisiana St, Lawrence, KS. Show off your ride or check out all the entries at this family fun event. with the car show, food, beverages and entertainment. Awards for vehicles and BBQ teams are at 3:00 p.m. The show is free to enter your ride and free to the general public. BBQ teams are on a fee basis. All proceeds will be donated to local charities. Hope to see you at the park.

The 15th annual Summer's End Cruise-In is in the books. It was a beautiful day and the car community came out big to the show. Over 160 vehicles with lots of visitors. Kids galore to. A true family day! BBQ from Smokin' Hog Butts competition BBQ team, Tunes from Easy G and the Blue Notes and Rich Johnson After Midnight, Concessions by Set 'em up Jacks and a team from O'Connell Children's Shelter, Raffle and swag from Lawrence Blue Santa. A wonderful day with some of the best looking vehicles from all over the area on display. What could have been better?

Stay tuned for winners announcements and a final tally of money to the charities.

On another note: We still have a set of keys that were found on the floor of the arena. 3 keys on a black web key chain. Budweiser b**r logo on the key chain. If they are yours, respond to this post and we will get them back to you.

Pre-Registration ended last Sunday, but don't let that deter you. Come on out and register day of. We gladly accept registrations at the show. We open at 8 but cars arrive throughout the morning, so don't worry if you can't be there right away. In fact, why not avoid the lines and arrive a little latter? It's free to enter, but open your heart and wallet and make a donation to our charities for their work in our community. Whatever amount you like.

And don't forget T shirts will be on sale, always a hit with the crowd. Plenty of food and drink. BBQ by Smokin' Hog Butts BBQ including Brisket, Pulled Pork and Ribs. YUM! Burgers and Dogs available. Kids choices too. Main Concessions by registration with a satellite drink stand near the entrance.

Toons by Easy G and the Blue Notes and Rich Johnson After Midnight. Touch a Truck for the kids and big kids with Cotton Candy and Snow Cones just outside the arena. And of course, Bluey and Bingo at 11 for the kids. Don't miss out.

Looking for a fun and family friendly event this Saturday? Come out to the Douglas County Fairgrounds for the Summer's End Cruise In. Lot's of cars and trucks and perhaps a motorcycle or 2. All kinds of vehicles to see. Classics, Hot Rods, Customs, Resto Mods, Low Riders, Trucks old and newer, Specialty Vehicles.

Did I say specialty vehicles. Yes I did. The Batmobile and Scooby Van are said to be at the show, plus the Ghost Busters wagon has been invited. Who knows what other special cars or trucks will be at the show.

Food, drink and entertainment for sure. So bring the family and enjoy a Saturday at the Fairgrounds.

Saturday, Oct. 3, 8-3. FREE to attend. Bring your ride and enter.

Well its almost time for this year's Summer's End Cruise In. Remember the show was rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 3, from 8-3 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in the Open Pavilion. We will be inside the Pavilion with overflow outside. We have a ton of activities scheduled, so make a day of it. And bring the family as there is something for everyone.

Free to enter (though we encourage a donation to our charities, FREE to attend (you can also donate to our charities), with food and beverage available, plus entertainment in the form of Easy G and the Blue Notes and Rich Johnson After Midnight as the headliner. Plus BLUEY and BINGO will make an appearance for the kids at 11:00.

The show is almost here and with a new venue we want to provide some detail on exactly where on the Fairgrounds we will be and best way to access the arena for those entering the show. The following map will detail where we are, how to drive in and where public parking is located. We expect to have our largest show yet. We will have most, if not all, entries inside and we have outside and overflow area as well.

Preregistration is coming to a close again. Preregistration with prepayment of $25 gets you into to show, a T shirt, custom dash plaque, commemorative cup and other goodies. The link to preregister will be gone tomorrow, Sunday the 20th. so take advantage. We have a big number of registrations already, Don't miss out.

You can also preregister without payment but you won't get the deal and goodies and you might well miss out on T shirts sold day of show.

With the show postponed to Oct 3 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, there is a renewed opportunity to preregister your ride. That's right, you can not only skip filling out forms at the registration table, but with a $25 prepaid package you will get a boat load of goodies. With the prepaid package you will get the commemorative Tee Shirt, Custom Dash Plaque, and lot's of other goodies. You can still preregister without payment, but why miss out on the goodie bag. Huh?

So take advantage right away. The preregistration will end in a week.
