🌧️ Rainy Days in Florida = Extra Caution on the Road! 🚗💦

Hey Florida friends! With all this rain we’ve been getting lately, it’s more important than ever to stay safe on the roads AND keep your car in top shape for wet-weather driving. 🌴⚠️

Driving Safety Tips:
✅ Slow down – wet roads mean longer stopping distances
✅ Turn on your headlights – it helps you see and helps others see you
✅ Don’t use cruise control – it can make hydroplaning worse
✅ Keep a safe distance – the car in front of you might stop suddenly
✅ Avoid flooded roads – “Turn around, don’t drown!”

Rainy Weather Car Maintenance Tips:
🔧 Check your tires – good tread and proper pressure help prevent hydroplaning
🔧 Replace worn wiper blades – if they’re streaking or squeaking, it’s time
🔧 Top off windshield washer fluid – Florida bugs + rain = a messy windshield
🔧 Inspect your brakes – they need to be in great condition for slick roads
🔧 Make sure all lights (headlights, brake lights, turn signals) are working

Rainy season isn’t going anywhere soon – a few small checks can make a big difference. Stay safe, and stay dry, ☔💙

🚗 That Squeak is a Leak... in Your Wallet!
If your car sounds like a haunted house every time you turn the key, your serpentine belt is probably screaming for help. 😱

This one belt does a massive job. It powers your steering, keeps your battery charged, and runs your A/C. If it snaps, your car is going nowhere fast. 🛑

🚨 Signs of Trouble
The Squeal: A loud screeching noise when you start the car. 🔊

Cracks & Fraying: If the belt looks "dry" or has visible cracks. 🛠️

Heavy Steering: If it feels like you're suddenly wrestling a bear just to turn the wheel. 🐻

Overheating: Your engine temp starts climbing because the water pump stopped. 🌡️

💡 The Fix
Check the Tension: Sometimes it’s just loose, but usually, it’s better to replace it.

Don't DIY Blind: Always find the "routing map" under the hood so you know how to thread the new one! 🗺️

Be Proactive: Replace it every 60k–100k miles to avoid getting stranded. 🏃💨

Quick Tip: A cheap belt replacement is way better than an expensive engine rebuild! 💸

Let’s get your trusty ride checked out so you can tackle the rest of the week with total peace of mind.

🔧 Our Weekend Checklist Includes:

When owning an older vehicle, you must prioritize what needs to be done so it works well for you. Here is a list of maintenance issues that you should take into consideration:

Priority No. 1: Maintain things that could cause your old car to lose control and possibly cause an accident. This includes your car's braking system, tires, and steering system.

Priority No. 2: This will include maintenance on things that will leave you stranded or cause other components — such as the engine — to fail. This includes radiator hoses, fuel lines, CV joints and belts.

Priority No. 3: The third priority will be simply to keep your old car alive. This includes changing the engine oil on a regular basis, and getting the cooling and power steering systems flushed, according to you vehicle maintenance schedule.

At East Bay Auto we can help you keep your older car running smoothly.

🚗 Ever had this little yellow horseshoe symbol light up on your dashboard and wondered what it means? 🚗

That’s your TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) light, and it’s not something you want to ignore!

Here is a quick breakdown of why that little light is actually a big deal:

Safety First: Under-inflated tires can cause unpredictable handling, longer stopping distances, and even dangerous blowouts at high speeds.

Save Your Cash: Driving on low tires increases rolling resistance, which forces your engine to work harder and burns more gas. Keeping them properly inflated saves you money at the pump!

Tire Lifespan: When your tires are low, they wear down much faster and unevenly. Taking care of your tire pressure means you won't have to buy expensive new tires as often.

What should you do if it turns on?
Pull over safely at a gas station or service center, check your tire pressure with a gauge, and fill them up to the recommended PSI (you can usually find this number on a sticker inside your driver’s side door jamb).

If the light stays on or flashes, it might mean you have a puncture or a faulty sensor, so it's worth getting a quick checkup at a shop.

Check your tires, stay safe, and happy driving! 🛠️👇

🚗 Monday Survival Tip: Show Your Car Some Love! 🛠️
Let’s be real—Mondays are hard enough. The last thing you need is your car deciding it’s also "not feeling it" halfway to work! 😅

While you're fueling up on caffeine today, take five minutes to give your ride a quick check-up. A little preventative maintenance goes a long way in making sure your week stays on track.

🕒 The "Monday Morning" Checklist:
Check Your Fluids: Oil, coolant, and windshield wiper fluid. (Because seeing the road is actually pretty helpful!)

Tire Pressure Check: Changes in temperature can mess with your PSI. Better gas mileage starts with properly inflated tires. ⛽

Listen Closely: Any weird squeaks or rattles? Your car is literally trying to tell you something. Don't ghost it! 👻

Clean the Windshield: A clear view makes those Monday morning blues a little brighter.

Pro Tip: If you treat your car like a VIP on Monday, it won’t treat you like a stranger on Friday.

🖤 Wednesday Wisdom: Car Maintenance The Addams Edition 🖤
It's Wednesday, and you know what that means. While some might be dreaming of pink, fluffy clouds, I'm here to remind you of the stark realities of vehicular maintenance.

Your automobile, much like a poisonous garden, requires constant vigilance and occasional "maintenance" to prevent its inevitable decay. Ignoring its unsettling rattles is a mistake—one that could leave you stranded, a fate ever so dreary.

My Guide to a Horrifying Well Maintained Machine:

Fluid Levels: A Gothic Ballet: Oil, coolant, brake fluid… ensure these vital internal organs are at their proper, chilling levels. A car deprived of its fluids is a car destined for an early demise.

Lights : Headlights illuminate the darkness, taillights warn the unwary. Ensure all are functioning.

Wiper Blades: Cleansing the Veil: Your windshield should be clear, allowing for an unobstructed view of road hazards. Replace those old and worn blades.

Listen: Every squeak, grind, or sputter is your car's cry for help. Acknowledge it, address it.

Neglect is a slow, agonizing fate for any machine. Be proactive.
And for goodness sake, try to avoid breaking down in a field of sunflowers. The horror.

🐾☀️ Summer Heat Alert for Pet Owners! ☀️🐾

Your furry friends depend on you to keep them safe and comfortable during the hot summer months.

🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes. Temperatures inside a car can rise dangerously fast and become life-threatening before you know it.

❄️ If your pet is riding along, make sure your vehicle's air conditioning is blowing cold and keeping the cabin comfortable. A properly working A/C doesn't just keep you cool—it keeps your best friend safe too!

🐶 Just like this happy pup enjoying the cool air, your pets deserve a comfortable ride wherever you go.

Before your next trip:
✅ Check that your A/C is working properly
✅ Make sure cool air reaches the back seats
✅ Bring fresh water for longer drives
✅ Never leave pets unattended in a vehicle

A little prevention goes a long way in protecting the ones who love us unconditionally. ❤️
