TTA Performance

TTA Performance TTA Performance specializes in restoration parts and services for the Turbocharged 301 Pontiac V8 fou Welcome to TTA Performance. Thank you.

A little background about me, my name is Joe, I was a certified GM Technician for local dealerships in the 90’s. Cars have always been a passion of mine. Especially, unique cars like the 301T. I created TTA Performance to provide products and services to the Turbo 4.9 community based on the premise, “see a need, and fill a need”. At this point in time, TTA Performance will concentrate on products

that work like the OE part, but may not look 100% like OE, and products that improve the performance of the TTA. The first of these “services” was developing a process to rebuild the Power Enrichment Vacuum Regulator or PEVR. There are other products and services that I currently offer. Not to mention the dozens of other performance ideas I have yet to prototype. I hope to provide you a quality product to allow you to enjoy your TTA for years to come.

Recap of Firebird Fest.
After the cooling problems from a bad electric fan and converting back to a mechanical fan thanks to a fellow Firebird Fest attendee, the rest of the weekend was great.
We left for home Sunday morning. My son drove my 1981 all the way back with no issues. Took all major highways home. The overdrive trans is great for cruising. I think we put over 600 miles on my 301T that weekend. Not bad for a car that goes low 12's in the 1/4 mile. Just proves that 301s are not bad engines when done right.

Day 3 of Firebird Fest: A lot of cruising and downtown Waterloo car show.
The weather wasn't the best in the morning. Had some rain. We skipped the Chain of Rocks bridge cruise and went straight to the River Jump ferry ride across the Mississisppi. Took the Brussels ferry since it was 2 ferry rides with a scenic drive in the middle. Stopped for lunch in St. Charles. Then headed to a meet up point for an all ladies cruise to Waterloo Walmart to get ready for the police escorted "parade drive through Waterloo to downtown. The rain cleared up just in time and made for an awesome day. More pics can be found at the Firebird Fest FB page.

Day 2 of Firebird Fest: Car show and Nascar track day.
It was a warm, sunny and beautiful day. Car show at Gateway Classics. Cruise to Word Wide Technologies Raceway to drive on the Nascar track. We decided not drive the 45 min to the drive in theater for a screening of Smokey and the Bandit. That would have made for a long, late night drive back.

Day 1 of Firebird Fest. Poker run.
Got registered in the morning, got the route. Weren't really planning on hitting all the stops. Headed out with our friends and stopped at some cool places. The interesting ones for me were Fairway Automotive, National Museum of Transportation and Bigfoot 4x4 Inc. It ended with a cruise to Eckert's Farm in Bellville for a car show. Very full day. But beautiful weather. My 1981 SE never went over 178 deg.

Day 0 of Firebird Fest. Travel day Wednesday. The theme was "keeping cool". As in trying to keep things cool.
My son was driving my 1981 SE Turbo as I was towing his 1999 Turbo LS1 Trans Am.
Ran into a problem with the electric fan on my car. It melted the relay. Replaced the relay. Everything worked again but the melting compromised the relay socket. Decided to unload the 1999 and put mine on the trailer. At the next stop, I made a bypass out of 10 gauge wire to the alternator. We were good.....until the the fan motor died completely 2 hours outside O'Fallon. Back on the trailer desperately searching for a mechanical flex fan to bolt onto the water pump. None of the parts stores had one. A call out on the Firebird Fest FB page got me a couple of options. Arrived at the Air Bnb, removed the electric fan, installed mechanical fan and went to bed. This morning we find out the refrigerator is not cooling in the house needed to run out and get bags of ice.

Got some cool pictures though.

FYI we will be closed for the rest of this week as we attend Firebird Fest.
Thanks.
