Join Abbeville Main Street this Thursday for the final Sounds on the Square - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚-𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐬 concert of the fall season!

Enjoy live music from The Fa-Tras and jambalaya prepared by Darnall, Sikes & Frederick CPAs in downtown.

We asked What Up Acadiana! for local beignet recommendations. Today we made our first stop on our “beignet tour“ at the most recommended place. The Coffee Depot in Scott was amazing! We ordered the beignets and a pecan waffle with a side of bacon. Yummers!! The beignets were amazing 🤩 and the pecan waffle (with Steens) was outstanding! We finished it with an iced coffee to go.  The staff was very friendly and the building is charming. We will be back! But first we are trying the other stops! We’re willing to gain a few pounds in order to send our guests to the the best places! 😉

Just a few miles from Cajun Acres RV Park. 🚙

Some towns still make you slow down without asking. Maybe it’s the wide-open streets, maybe it’s the way a place settles into its own rhythm and never seems in a hurry to change.

There’s a prairie feel to this part of Louisiana, with broad skies and that working-town look that comes from generations of people tied to the land and the road. It feels like a place that has watched plenty of traffic come and go, then gone right on with its day.

I always root for towns that still look like they know who they are. They remind me of the drives where you didn’t need a destination to enjoy the trip.

Back by popular demand – Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie will play on Sunday, November 8th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Giant Omelette Celebration. Geno is a Zydeco accordionist and singer whose sound is deeply routed in Creole and Cajun music.
