I'm going to take a moment to give the ArtTunes mission statement. I felt I needed to say it.
I suffer from depression, sometimes bad depression. I also have OCD that can get downright intense. I am also blessed or cursed with creativity, so I can imagine outcomes that are nowhere near the normal course of things. Like most depressed people, I can cover it up. Most do it with humor. There is a joke asking how to find a depressed person, and the answer is, find the happiest one in the room.
I really try but often don't understand how normal people do things. I do know the pain that can show up when it is obvious that one of these things is not like the others. It's real.
There is a song about ArtTunes and one of the lines is " Never seemed/ to be anyone's dream/ to build a place like this/ and what it's doing here no one can say." True, yet this place was also designed with that in mind. We are here to tell some people who need to know it that they are ok. Knowing one's pain can help to work with it. The goal is to make others feel worthwhile. I would like to say that I have done that, and sometimes I have helped, and other times I have failed miserably. And it haunts me. for years. However, if someone can leave here just a little happier than when they came in, I believe I may have helped a little. And that is what ArtTunes is about. More song, "found that the passion/ lies in the mansion/ crazy thinking never fits in/ but the outcasts flock/ to where others mock/ and maybe they can hope for a win"
That is ArtTunes. It's a business, sure, and we work to make a buck, but also to tell the weirdos that they are one of us. Thank you. Have a day, and I'll do funny posts again.
