Okay campers… we are getting EXCITED because this weekend is shaping up to be everything we love about camping! ❤️

🎣 Fishing and relaxing by the water
🌲 Golf carts, fresh air & campground adventures
🍦 And of course… something DELICIOUS!

🍂 The backpacks are packed…but the campers aren’t. 🏕️

There’s something about this time of year.

Just a few weeks ago, summer seemed endless. Kids were running around barefoot, bicycles were scattered beside campsites, campfires stayed lit long after dark, and nobody was paying much attention to what day of the week it was.

And then, almost overnight, the alarm clocks came back on. ⏰

Backpacks were filled.
First-day outfits were laid out.
School buses started rolling down the roads again. 🚌📚

Summer may be winding down…

but camping season certainly isn’t. ❤️

In fact, some of the best camping days are still ahead of us.

Soon the mornings will have that little chill in the air. Coffee will taste even better sitting outside the camper. ☕ The trees will begin changing colors, sweatshirts will come out after sunset, and campfires will become less about roasting marshmallows and more about pulling your chair just a little bit closer to the flames. 🔥

There’s something peaceful about camping after the rush of summer settles down.

Maybe the kids have school Monday morning.

Maybe you can't take a weeklong vacation anymore.

But you can still pack up on Friday, leave the schedules and laundry behind for a couple of days, and spend a weekend making memories.

Because childhood summers go fast.

Seasons change.

Kids grow up.

But those evenings around the campfire?
Those are the moments they remember. ❤️

So yes… school is back in session.

But here at River Oaks RV Park, we're still camping. 🏕️🌳

And there are still plenty of memories left to make.

🎡 The fair is wrapping up, backpacks are packed, and school starts tomorrow… but who says the FUN has to end? 🎒🍎🏕️

The end of the Iowa State Fair always feels like that unofficial little signal that summer is winding down. But here at River Oaks RV Park, we think there are still plenty of memories left to make! 💚

Because camping season still has a LOT to offer…

🔥 Cool evenings around the campfire
🍫 S’mores that somehow taste better outside
🎣 One more cast before the sun goes down
⛳ Golf cart rides around the park
🌲 Walks on the trails as summer starts turning toward fall
☕ Crisp mornings with coffee outside the camper
⭐ And those beautiful Iowa nights under the stars

And parents… school starting tomorrow means you survived another summer! 😂👏

So here's to the kids heading back to school, the teachers getting ready for another year, and all the families who made some pretty amazing memories this summer.

There’s just something about a Saturday morning at the campground… ☀️☕🌳

The sound of campers waking up, coffee brewing, golf carts making their way around the park, and another day waiting to be enjoyed.

Summer may be moving quickly, but there are still memories left to make. ❤️

🎣 Cast a line in the pond.
🌳 Take a walk on the trails.
☕ Sit outside with your morning coffee.
👋 Wave to your neighbor.
🔥 Gather around a campfire tonight.

Sometimes the best weekends aren't packed with plans—they're filled with the simple moments we almost forget to slow down and enjoy.

🌿 WHERE DOES THIS TRAIL LEAD? 🌿

Sometimes you just have to follow the path and see where it takes you…

This beautiful trail at River Oaks RV Park leads you toward the Des Moines River, tucked away beneath the trees and surrounded by nature. 🌳💧

One of my favorite things about our park is that there’s more here than what you see from your campsite. Take a walk, slow down, listen to the birds, breathe in the fresh air and explore a little.

You never know what you might find at the end of the trail. ❤️

What a weekend it has been in Iowa! Between the Iowa State Fair, the Knoxville Nationals, summer adventures, and a little Iowa weather thrown into the mix, there’s been plenty going on! ❤️

But this morning at River Oaks, we’re appreciating the quieter things…

🎡🏁 IOWA IS WHERE IT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND! 🏁🎡

The Iowa State Fair is in FULL SWING, the Knoxville Nationals have brought race fans from near and far, and Mother Nature decided to throw a little RAIN into the mix! 🌧️😂

But around River Oaks RV Park, a little rain doesn’t stop the fun — it just means muddy shoes, cozy campers, good conversations, and another Iowa summer memory in the making. ❤️

Whether you’ve spent your day eating your way through the State Fair 🍗🌽🍪, cheering on your favorite driver at Knoxville 🏁, or hiding out from the rain back at the camper… we want to hear about it!
