Impending Snow Storm
The Township of Hamilton has more than 300 lane miles to plow during snow events. Depending on the duration and amount of snowfall, township trucks and/or contractors may have to plow your street several times during and after the storm. As snow rolls off the plows, it will accumulate at driveway aprons. Please understand that this is unavoidable, and it is the homeowner's responsibility to clear it.
Please see the following helpful tips to help during a snow event.
Place Trash & Recycling carts at the curb line for pick up the night before collection.
Be sure to remove them ASAP afterward, to prevent damage to them.
Shovel snow to the right side of your driveway (facing the street) to minimize the amount of snow entering your driveway apron.
Shovel and/or blow snow onto the curb or the grass, not into the street. This creates hazardous ice spots, that could impact you while exiting the driveways into the roadways.
If possible, please do not park on the street, parking vehicles on the street hinders the speed of removal and also causes vehicles to be plowed in.
Please remove basketball hoops and other objects before the storm.
