This is a cabin air filter, and when it starts looking like this, it’s definitely been doing its job. 😬

Your cabin air filter helps catch dust, dirt, pollen, and other debris before the air makes its way into the passenger compartment. Over time, all that stuff adds up and can restrict airflow through your heating and A/C system.

We Value People Above All… and sometimes that means closing the shop early and heading to the water! 😎🌊

Last week we shut things down a little early for some much-needed Modern Auto Service team time.

There was food. There were water slides. There were paddleboards. There were questionable decisions made on those paddleboards. 😂 And most importantly, there was a whole lot of laughing and hanging out together.

We ask a lot from this crew every day, and they show up BIG for our customers and for each other. Taking an afternoon to simply enjoy the people we work beside was time well spent. 💙

Wait… my hybrid has ANOTHER air filter?! 🤯

Yep! Most hybrids have an internal air filter that helps keep the hybrid battery system cool—and it’s one most people don’t even know exists.

And as you can see… they can get pretty nasty. 😬

A clogged filter can restrict airflow and make your hybrid system work harder than it needs to.

We get this question a lot, and we're glad you're paying attention to what your car is telling you!

Most of the time, it comes down to transmission fluid that's old or low. Think of it like oil for your engine, but for your transmission. When it breaks down or drops below where it should be, the gears don't engage as smoothly and you feel that lurch.

Other common culprits include a dirty transmission filter, worn solenoids, or a sensor that needs replacing. These are all parts that wear out naturally over time. Nothing unusual, nothing to panic about.

Sometimes it's not even the transmission itself. A misfiring engine or worn motor mounts can mimic that jerky feeling when the car shifts. That's why a proper diagnosis matters before anyone starts throwing parts at the problem.

The key is not to wait too long. Small transmission issues tend to stay small if you catch them early, and they tend to get expensive if you don't.

Bring it by whenever you're ready and we'll take a look. No pressure, just honest answers so you know exactly where you stand.

There are a few reasons your AC might be blowing warm, and most of them are pretty straightforward fixes. So take a breath. You're probably not looking at anything catastrophic!

The most common culprit is low refrigerant. Over time, the system can develop small leaks that let the refrigerant escape. Without enough of it, the air just never gets cold. We see this one all the time, especially on cars with a few years on them.

It could also be a failing compressor, which is the part that actually pressurizes the refrigerant and gets the cooling cycle going. Or sometimes it's something as simple as a bad relay or a blown fuse that's keeping the compressor from kicking on in the first place.

Whatever the cause, an AC diagnosis is quick and painless. We check the pressures, inspect the components, and tell you exactly what's going on before we touch anything.

If your car shakes when you come to a stop, the most common cause is warped brake rotors. The rotors are the metal discs your brake pads clamp down on. When they get uneven from heat and wear, you feel that pulsing through the steering wheel or the brake pedal.

Sometimes it's not the brakes at all. Worn motor mounts can let the engine rock around more than it should, and you'll feel it most at idle when the vehicle is stopped.

With warped rotors, the shaking gets worse over time. It also means your braking distance is longer than it should be, which is pretty important when someone stops short in front of you!

Either way, these are straightforward fixes when caught early.

🐍 Dead or alive… we remove those snakes! 😂

This is definitely one of the more unusual things we’ve found during our Quality Control Inspection.

Yep — that’s a snake. And yep — it was dead and wrapped up in the brakes. 😳

Our Quality Control Inspections are all about taking that extra look before a vehicle leaves our shop. Most days, we’re checking our work and making sure everything is exactly as it should be.

Other days… apparently we’re checking for snakes. 🐍🔧😂
