Dear Friends and Family,
First, we want to say a sincere thank you to all of the friends who have trusted us with the care of their vehicles over the last 10 years. What started as a business idea has become a meaningful part of our lives, largely because of the people we’ve had the opportunity to serve, and the relationships we’ve made. We’re genuinely grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us and for the support you’ve shown our family and our team.
Running Modern Auto Service has developed me as a person more than anything else I've done. I feel like I've lived 20 years of life in the 10 years I've been operating it. There's so much to love about owning a business in the town you call home. I've come to see that I was uniquely suited to the early phase of this business--I have a nearly limitless supply of optimism, and I loved the push to get the plane in the air. The next stage calls for sustained consistency and adherence to processes, and I'm honestly less suited to that. Additionally, our family is in a busy and important season of life, and we are eager to create a better balance between our work, our family, and the things that matter to us.
With this in mind, we’re excited to share some big news:
Effective Tuesday, October 13, Modern Auto Service will be joining Emerald Auto!
This decision comes after a lot of research, discussion, and prayer. We feel that Emerald Auto possesses the essential qualities that are important to us, and will provide continued care for our crew and community. Emerald’s owners are local to the Treasure Valley and currently own nine shops throughout Idaho. Each shop operates independently with its own local team and leadership. They understand that a good local repair shop is built on the relationships between its employees, customers, and the community.
Emerald is excited to continue Modern Auto’s involvement in our community, and I will also be helping Emerald bring some of the community events and activities we’ve developed here to their other locations throughout the valley. We’re excited that something we’ve worked hard to build here can continue to grow beyond our own shop.
Most importantly, Modern Auto Service isn’t going anywhere.
