🏁 FMT 4.6L — Continuing the 2027 Rules Discussion

Thank you to the drivers who have already come together to ask questions, share ideas, and help get rule clarifications in place. Your involvement helps keep this class affordable, competitive, and growing!

Here’s the second part of our comparison with neighboring tracks, covering tires, wheels, suspension, and weight rules. These comparisons are for discussion—not an announcement of adopted changes.

We have compiled the 2 sets of rules to our north and south, to see if we can better align.

We know our cage rules are vastly different and hope we can get the other tracks to adopt our cage requirement, grandfathering old cars in? Driver safety is our number one concern with many of these rules.

Track Prep Superintendent Taylor Andringa shared why this event matters:

“A driver winning $4,000.00 in the FMT 4.6L could pay for their entire race car build. This idea helps to grow our newest class and get new drivers and spectators to the racetrack.”

That’s what we want to build: an event that gives our current racers something big to chase, encourages new drivers to join the class, and brings more fans out to enjoy a night at Fairmont Raceway!

📝 HOW TO REGISTER
Head to My Race Pass, find Fairmont Raceway, and register under the June 11th race. Registration increases to $350.00 on April 1st.

🏁 HEAT RACES — PASSING POINTS
Heat races will use passing points, making every position gained valuable. Come ready to race your way forward!

😈 A-MAIN — REVENGE REDRAW
Drivers who qualify for the redraw will draw a number and assign that starting position to another driver in the redraw!

Who gets sent to the front? Who gets buried deeper in the lineup? The competition gets a say—and then it’s time to settle it on the track with $4,000 on the line!

The Fairmont Raceway family extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Stacy Erickson.

Stacy was a familiar face around Fairmont Raceway for many years and someone who truly loved being part of the racing community. In 2015, he was inducted into the Fairmont Raceway Hall of Fame as a track supporter and employee — a recognition that spoke to the impact he had on the people around him and on the track he cared so much about.

Stacy brought enthusiasm, loyalty, and a genuine love for Fairmont Raceway. He was the kind of person who reminded everyone that being part of racing is about much more than what happens on the track — it is about the people, the friendships, and the feeling of belonging to something special.

We are grateful Stacy was part of the Fairmont Raceway family, and his place in our history will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Erickson family and everyone who knew and loved Stacy

A Celebration of Life Service for Stacey L. Erickson, 63, of Fairmont, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be held at Welcome Cemetery in Welcome, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Stacey passed away Sunday morning, September 27, 2026, at his home in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.

The updated website now includes:

We are still updating a few areas, but you can head over now, explore the new layout and become familiar with everything the website has to offer.

One important step: Search for Fairmont Raceway in the MyRacePass app and tap “Favorite.”

When we post news or make changes to an event on our website, followers who have favorited Fairmont Raceway can receive a push notification. On days when the weather is changing, this will be the quickest way to learn about delays, time changes, cancellations or other race-day updates—without needing to call, text or message the track.

We are looking for up to three dependable individuals to help with tech every race night at Fairmont Raceway.

Ideally, we would like to add:

🔧 One person with strong Modified and B-Mod experience

🔧 One person with strong Hobby Stock and Stock Car experience

🔧 One person with a strong mechanical background, dirt-track racing experience, and either an understanding of USRA rules or the willingness to learn them

Just as important as mechanical knowledge, we need individuals who can conduct themselves professionally, responsibly and respectfully—even in high-pressure situations. Tech officials must be fair, consistent and able to communicate clearly with drivers and race teams.

The right individuals will represent Fairmont Raceway and USRA with pride while helping us maintain fair, competitive racing every night.
