TCU TUNING FROM HOME IS HERE!

You read that right - you can now unlock your TCU and flash TCU tunes on your MK8 GTI, MK8 Golf R, or 8Y Audi S3 without ever leaving your garage.

The key is the 034Motorsport Bootloader Unlock Harness (BLU), a simple hardware solution that unlocks the 401 bootloader found on 2022+ Volkswagen and Audi models equipped with the DQ381 G2 transmission. From the factory, these TCUs are locked and cannot be flashed through the OBD port. The BLU provides the one-time unlock needed to gain full tuning access.

Once unlocked, pair it with the all-new EQT Sauce Management Device (SMD) or your 034 Motorsport flashing device and you’re ready to flash TCU calibrations directly from home.

Currently the TCU unlock will allow the use of 034 Motorsport’s TCU tunes with the ability to flash EQT’s tunes once they are released.

The Process is simple:
- Connect the harness to your transmission using the included instructions
- Connect your 034 Motorsport Tuning flashing device or EQT SMD to the BLU Harness
- Perform the unlock procedure through the 034Motorsport App
- Once completed, the unlock is permanent and the BLU’s job is done. You can reconnect the factory harness
- Connect the same 034 Motorsport flashing device or EQT SMD to the car’s OBD port
- Use the same 034 App to flash your TCU tune
- Experience faster shifts, improved drivability, and optimized performance

A little update on torque management on the MK8 R. Did a run this morning in cooler weather (about 10F colder). Happy to see the torque curve is very stable and consistent. These are the two runs overlayed showing minimal differences. Holding power a bit better up top in the colder weather, but torque levels are consistent and in check.

For reference, this is running our EQT Vortex XL Turbo, EQT MPI, EQT 5 bar TMAP Sensor, and tuned with EQT SMD on E85. Stock engine, upgraded intake, intercooler, downpipe, stock catback for now.
