🚨 THIS IS WHY TRAILER MAINTENANCE IS NOT OPTIONAL. 🚨

Watch the video. A wheel and tire separates from a triple-axle boat trailer traveling at highway speed and strikes a person on the shoulder with incredible force.

This is REAL, folks.

A common path to this type of failure is simple:

Water enters the hub → corrosion begins → bearings deteriorate → bearing failure → hub/wheel assembly can separate from the axle.

And this is exactly why we preach ANNUAL SERVICE + PRE-TRIP + POST-TRIP INSPECTIONS.

We get calls for bearing failures and wheels coming off trailers constantly. Most catastrophic failures don’t happen without warning—proper inspection and preventative maintenance can catch many of these problems before you’re traveling 60–70 MPH down the freeway.

🚨 MUCKED UP MONDAY IS BACK! 🚨

Today’s lesson: STOP USING A BEARING BUDDY LIKE IT’S A GREASE GUN FOR YOUR BEARINGS.

A Bearing Buddy is designed to help maintain positive pressure inside the hub, reducing the chance of water being drawn in when that hot hub hits cold water.

It is NOT a substitute for properly inspecting, cleaning, packing, and servicing your bearings.

Overfill it and you can create another mess entirely.

And while we’re watching this “how-to” video… take a look at the lug nuts.

They’re installed backwards. 🤦‍♂️

Maybe this isn’t the person we should be taking trailer-maintenance advice from. 😂
