To hell with this company. Employee so busy worrying about my personal life to the point he f**ked up reservation. Now i have a charge on my card but never rented a vehicle. Instead of you guys fixing this, told me to take it up with capital one when your employee Tilhaun made the problem. Next time stop worrying about my husband and kids and pay attention to your damn job. To make it worse, Wendy says she hopes this doesn’t affect relationship. I won’t say never but it will be a long time before i deal with you guys. Only reason i rent is because we have 3 sports cars and a BMW. But At this point, I’ll purchase a suburban because I’m just tired of dealing with bs.
Picked up a vehicle last night and had the worst rental experience ever. I had 2 reservations: hybrid and compact suv. I rent here a lot at least 2 month so didn’t expect issues. I asked which vehicle did have on lot and he asked which reservation i wanted. I told him well depends on what have and asked him to look in system. He rolled his eyes, so I asked him to wait before charging card and id go outside to look. He had a problem with this as well but guaranteed a hybrid as Ford Fusion. I saw that on lot and told him I’d take that one. After driving off lot, I realized this isn’t a hybrid but eco boost completely different and came back. I told him i wanted what I was charged and that’s not a hybrid. He grabbed keys in rude manner and asked, “did you look?” Stormed in saying we don’t have hybrid. I told him you guarenteed that and I started point in my face asking was I blaming him. I was called an idiot and a liar, which I’m neither. But he didn’t do his job nor care too. I said, “I’ll just cancel your reservation and you can get out so I don’t have to deal with you.” I understand me being frustrated because it’s after midnight but to have someone point in my face and talk to me this way is totally unacceptable. Another employee(who’s leaving this location) gave me a “upgrade” and had to physical calm him down as if he’s medicated. I don’t care about an upgrade as I wanted a hybrid for reasons. I decided to report this here but rest assure I’ll call corporate.
Talk about a horrendous rental experience. This was my experience with Alamo. I had the misfortune of renting a car with Alamo on 12/30 from IAD. As I was loading my car up to return the vehicle and catch my flight, I closed the trunk with the key inside it. By the time I got to the front, the car locked itself. I called Alamo and spoke to the rudest agent ever. She did not listen, said the only way she could help is by charging me $75 to send someone to unlock the vehicle. I agreed to that and the person came, force opened the vehicle and so the trunk unlock button inside the car would not work. He simply said that’s all I can do and left while I was trying to talk to him. I called multiple times and finally someone by the name of John was kind enough to help arrange for someone to tow the vehicle. I had to fly back with only my phone on me as even my purse was in that vehicle and caught an Uber to the airport, another Uber home to get my spare car keys and a third to get back to the airport so I can drive my car home. I called next day and after over 2 hours with different people telling me the car had not been towed, I called my friend whose house the car was parked at and she informed me the car had been towed the day before. I called roadside with that information and finally they said yeah the car was towed to DCA. I called Alamo at DCA and requested to speak to a manager as I was tired of people telling me inaccurate information. 3 hours later the so called manager hadn’t called and so I called back and after a long wait, a person by the name of Andrew identified himself as a floor manager. Talk about rude, completely unwilling to help or even listen. He wanted to tell me what I can or cannot say when I said I’d been dealing with incompetence. I finally got fed up and hung up. I had informed everyone I spoke to that there’s raw meat in that trunk and it also had my passport, jewelry and very valuable items in there. I was promised my belongings were going to be sent to me and of course that didn’t happen. I had to send a friend to retrieve my luggage. I have never seen such lack of customer service, rude, INCOMPETENT staff unable to provide st least accurate information or bother themselves to check if they don’t know. I
Booked a car for vacation a week ago, realized that same evening that the agent had manipulated his way into charging me for daily insurance coverage, even after being told my own insurance covered it. Have called twice and been told that the manager from the Dulles location would be following up with me. Car is to be dropped off tonight or tomorrow and I have not yet heard from a manager, besides being out $200 that was budgeted for my vacation. Will never book with Alamo again.
We rented a Nissan Murano from 10/10 - 10/21. It is a great car for sightseeing and very comfortable. When we picked the car up at Dulles in DC, there were only two appropriate cars in inventory. The counter person and the lot person could not tell us if we had CarPlay or make sure we had it set up. We finally figured it out on the 2nd day and we did have it - sure makes following directions easier We also rented a TollPass and it didn’t work - ended up paying cash at the tolls. The lot attendant refunded our rental fee for it with no question on return. In and out was simple and efficient.
Super easy and quick checkin and checkout! Will definitely book with Alamo again🤩
This was my first rental with Alamo despite many rentals over the years. I'll definitely consider them for my next rental. I flew into IAD about 9:30 pm and was concerned about a late night rental. No worries! The shuttle was timely and the Alamo agent was efficient and courteous. He offered the vehicle I rented and two upgrades without cost. "Take which ever you wish". My grandson made the choice and we had eight days of carefree driving. Thanks Alamo.😊
