Let’s talk 💲money💲 for a minute!
This is a long post so buckle up!
Our office gals were told a couple things today:
1️⃣ “I got a quote 2 months ago and it was $10 cheaper! What’s the deal?!?! 🤬”
💁🏼♀️ “☹️We are sorry about that - we try to honor our quotes for as long as we can, max is about 30 days in this economy. Our glass suppliers are raising prices and delivery fees on us.”
‼️True story - we have several glass suppliers. We get 2-3 deliveries PER DAY from each of those suppliers. So let’s say we get about 4-6 glass deliveries PER DAY. Each of those suppliers already charges us a delivery fee - they just added another $20 fuel surcharge fee to each delivery. So that’s $80-$120 extra PER DAY we’re being charged. That’s an EXTRA $400-$600 per week we’re being charged. This doesn’t even include the price increases we’ve seen for the glass itself. That doesn’t even include the price increases we’ve seen for our supplies, the gas for our trucks, the electric to power the shop.
We are very sorry if our quote from 2 months ago has increased by $10 and that we won’t just “eat it” because “it’s only 10 bucks!” If we “ate it” for everyone who comes back 2, 3, 4+ months later - we would be out of business. And that’s the harsh reality of being a small, family-owned & operated business.
Everyone is raising their prices - not just us.
2️⃣ “XYZ glass company can do it cheaper! I don’t really like his work but if you won’t match his price, I’m gonna have to go with him.”
💁🏼♀️ “I am sorry but this is our price.”
‼️True story - cheap work ain’t good and good work ain’t cheap! We don’t claim to be the cheapest - we claim to be affordable! You get good, quality work from our guys! We’re affordable because you don’t have to pay another business to fix our work.
Are we perfect? No, we’re human. But we stand behind our work and if something is wrong that we honestly caused, we fix it free of charge.
It’s likely you’ll have to pay someone else to fix the cheap guy’s work….or it could cost you even more if there’s a leak or something gets damaged or broken. We speak from experience - we hear customers’ stories all the time about “going with the cheap guy” as they’re handing us money to fix the problem. Are all cheap guys bad? Nope, and that’s not what we’re saying! Just speaking from experience - especially if you’re already saying how you don’t like their work. 👀
We know we can’t please everybody and we’re not everybody’s cup of tea.
HOWEVER, we are proud of our accomplishments, always strive to learn & improve upon our craft, and we stand by our work!
