If your idea of a good time involves turning off the pavement and seeing where the road goes, the OPUS Camper USA OP13 makes a pretty good case for staying out a little longer.

Public lands are a huge part of what makes the kind of adventure above possible. They give us places to take our trucks and off-road trailers beyond the pavement, exploring new terrain, and camping in some pretty incredible places.

But enjoying these places comes with a responsibility to help protect them, too.

This year’s National Public Lands Day theme is “Caring for Our Shared America,” a good reminder that exploring these places and taking care of them go hand in hand.

Pack out what you pack in. Stay on designated trails. Pick up a little extra trash. And if you want to do more, Volunteer.gov is a great place to find opportunities to give back.
