SEPTEMBER SHOOTOUT CANCELED

Unfortunately, due to the rain we have already received, along with additional rain forecasted for tomorrow and the possibility of more on Saturday, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s September Shootout at Raceway 7.

With the amount of rain already on the grounds and the forecast continuing to work against us, we feel making the call now is the best decision for our racers, teams, fans, and everyone traveling to Raceway 7.

We hate to end the 2026 season this way and certainly wish Mother Nature would have given us one more weekend.

Thank you to all of our drivers, crews, fans, sponsors, and staff for supporting Raceway 7 throughout the 2026 season. We truly appreciate everyone who spent their Friday nights with us this year.

SANTEE, WATSON, ELLER, KING, AND PORTER CAPTURE WINS ON RACEWAY 7’s CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!

Raceway 7 was blessed with spacious autumn like weather on Raceway 7’s Championship Night.

Billy Henry would once again claim the track title in the Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Crate Late Models. Cranesville’s Josh McDonald would go back-to back in the Campbell’s Mini Storage UMP Open Wheel Modifieds. It would be Zack Eller bringing home the gold in the Lakeview Ford Econo Mods. Dedicated racer Kole Holden making the two hour tow to Raceway 7 every Friday night would claim his first career Raceway 7 points title in the Nicky B’s Truck & RV Collision RUSH Sport Mods, and local favorite Branden Porter would be the first to put his name on the 21st Century Energy Crown Vic championship trophy.

Breyton Santee would win the battle but Billy Henry would win the war. Santee would lead from start to finish in the Evergreen Lake Park RUSH Crate Late Model feature, picking up his second Raceway 7 feature win of the season. Billy Henry with his 4th place finish would nail down Raceway 7’s Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Crate Late Models 2026 points championship, for the third consecutive season. Following Santee at the finish would be, 2014, 2017 track champion Kyle Zimmerman, New Yorker Austin Hauser, Billy Henry, and Orwell’s Cory Sines.

Previous week’s winner and race leader Nate Young would break going down the backstretch on lap 1 giving the lead to multi track champ Joel Watson. Watson would lead the remaining 19 laps untouched to bag his second Raceway 7 Campbell’s Mini Storage UMP Open Wheel Modifed feature win of the season. Josh McDonald capturing his 2nd track title in as many season’s would finish 2nd, Kingsville’s Bud Watson was 3rd, Dan McDonald 4th, and 15th place starter Matt Alexander was 5th.

Erie’s Zack Eller would close out a close points battle with Garrett Calvert in fine fashion, by nailing down his 7th Raceway 7 Lakeview Ford Econo Mod feature win of 26.’ Eller would hold off a fierce challenge from Calvert throughout the 15 lap a-main to record his first career Raceway 7 Lakeview Ford Econo Mod point’s title. Calvert would have to settle for 2nd, 2023, 2025 track champ Jake Eucker was 3rd, Jason Noe who was definitely the breakout driver of the year in the class was 4th, and veteran Dennis Lunger was 5th. Jake Eucker would capture the King of the Hill match race event.

Youngster Karston King would take the lead from initial leader Anthony Antus on lap 3, keeping enough distance between himself and veteran Jim Racey to score his first ever Raceway 7 Nicky B’s Truck & RV Collision RUSH Sport Mod feature win. Racey would secure 2nd, 2026 track champion Kole Holden was 3rd, Jacob Rutana was 4th, and Kyle Hanshaw with a solid run was 5th.

Without a doubt the feature of the night would be Raceway 7’s 21st Century Energy Crown Vics. The 12 lap event would see five lead changes between three different drivers. Track champion Branden Porter would take the lead from Dave Dropsho with 4 laps to go to record his 3rd career feature win in the class
at Raceway 7 as well as the classes first ever points champion. Following the Ashtabula County native at the stripe would be points runner-up and two time feature winner on the season Steve Hull, Bill Fuchs had a solid run finishing 3rd, Dave Dropsho would slip back finishing 4th, and Dave Hanshaw Jr. would round out the top 5.

Don’t forget next Friday and Saturday will be Raceway 7’s 9th Annual September Shootout. Featuring two nights of Super Late Models, along with Raceway 7’s other weekly divisions running for extra money. Come see what all the hype is about TONIGHT at Raceway 7 for the 2026 SEASON POINTS FINALE!

Sparks will fly on the track, in the pits, and in the sky as we close out the points season with FIREWORKS!

The Economod King of the Hill kicks off our feature lineup with some good old-fashioned, head-to-head, “I ain’t lifting first” racing.

Illegal shocks? Questionable motors? Hurt feelings? Bring ’em all — apparently tech inspection now includes checking horsepower, shock valving, and emotional damage.

Championships are on the line, Facebook keyboards are already warming up, and somebody’s probably getting accused of having $25,000 worth of motor in a $500 car.

Raceway 7 would like to announce an immediate update to the Economod class rules.

Effective immediately, the Economod shock claiming rule is void and has been removed from the class rules.

The original intent of the claiming rule was to promote fair competition and help maintain the affordability and integrity of the Economod division. It was not intended to become a tool for personal disputes, retaliation, or issues stemming from “he said, she said” Facebook drama.

We want the focus to remain where it belongs—on fair, competitive racing on the track.

The Economod shock rules will be reviewed and adjusted during the offseason, with updated regulations being implemented for the 2027 racing season.

THE “NORTHCOAST NITEMARE” STRIKES AGAIN AS WATSON, ELLER, HOLDEN, AND BAILEY ALSO BAG VICTORIES AT RACEWAY 7!

CLOSE RACING SUPPLY RACE REPORT:
Monroe Center, OH (Aug 21, 2026) By Marc Hoegerl: It was a beautiful night for racing in the lower Great Lakes region, as Raceway 7 would record night # 8 of 2026 in the record books.

Northeastern Ohio’s Jeff Watson would lead from green to checkered in the Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Crate Late Model a-main. This would be Watson’s 2nd feature win of the season at Raceway 7. July 24th feature winner Ashton Briggs would close the gap in the late stages with Watson getting hung-up in lapped traffic, but would have to settle for 2nd. Last week’s winner Breyton Santee was 3rd as Jamie Wrightsman and point’s leader Billy Henry rounded out the top 5.

It was all Chardon, Ohio’s Nate Young, dubbed as the “ Northcoast Nitemare” in the Campbell’s Mini Storage UMP Open Wheel Modified feature. Young would conquer the field finishing 4.07 seconds ahead of runner up Bud Watson. This would be Young’s 2nd feature win of the season as well as his 21st career feature win in the class at Raceway 7, putting him 6th on the divisions all-time feature win list. Bud Watson, Wyatt Scott, Josh McDonald after an early race incident, and Joel Watson would round out the top 5. Young would also come out on top in the evenings King of the Hill match race event.

Erie’s Zack Eller would once again show he’s the man to beat in the Raceway 7’s Lakeview Ford Econo Mods. Eller would keep just enough distance between himself and 2025 points champion Jake Eucker to score his 6th Raceway Lakeview Ford Econo Mod feature win of 2026. Eucker would maintain 2nd at the finish, 13th place starter Garrett Calvert was 3rd, Dennis Lunger was 4th, and Jason Noe with another solid run was 5th.

Kinzu Countries Kole Holden would hold off a late race charge from Poland’s Jacob Rutana to score his 4th Nicky B’s Truck & RV Collision RUSH Sports Mod feature win of the season at Raceway 7. Rutana would have to settle for 2nd, as Brandon Tercho, Doug Rutana, and Nolan Burns would complete the top 5.

Newcomer Devin Haley would grab the lead from race leader Devin Haefke on lap 4 and cruise the remaining 8 laps to score his first ever 21st Century Energy Min Stock feature win at Raceway 7. Following the Butler County, PA native across the line would be June 26th winner Steve Campbell, Hermitage, PA’s Andrew Thompson, Devin Haefke, and Conneaut Lake’s Justin Bailey.
