WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES.
Today, our team at Hendrick Volkswagen of Concord had the opportunity to get an early, up-close look at the all-new 2027 Volkswagen Atlas.
For comparison, the black Atlas is the new 2027 model, while the silver is a 2026—and Volkswagen clearly wasn’t interested in making this redesign difficult to spot.
The familiar three-row proportions remain, but nearly everything around them has evolved. The 2027 wears a bolder, more upright face with stacked LED lighting, a full-width illuminated signature and R-Line detailing that gives Volkswagen’s family SUV a much stronger presence.
Inside, the changes may be even more impressive. Rich two-tone seating, layered materials, available illuminated door and dashboard accents, physical steering-wheel controls and a multifunction center-console dial create a cabin that feels warmer, more thoughtful and noticeably more premium. Beneath it all, the Atlas remains what families have appreciated from the beginning: spacious, practical and genuinely useful across all three rows—now with more power and a new generation of technology surrounding it.
A Volkswagen should be practical without becoming anonymous, and useful without feeling ordinary. From our first look, the 2027 Atlas appears to understand that assignment very well.
Now we want to hear from you: Do you prefer the familiar face of the 2026, or the bold new direction of the 2027?
Car people, for the people.
