🍂❄️ TRAILER TIP TUESDAY: FALL IS HERE. IS YOUR RE**ER READY?

Cooler weather doesn't mean your re**er gets the season off.

Before we head into winter, now is a good time to pay attention to how your unit has been performing.

✔️ Any recurring alarms?
✔️ Taking longer to reach temperature?
✔️ Trouble maintaining the set point?
✔️ Coils due for a cleaning?
✔️ Anything sounding or operating differently?

If something has seemed “a little off,” this is a good time to get it checked instead of carrying the problem into winter.

🚛 THE REPAIR BILL ISN'T ALWAYS THE EXPENSIVE PART.

When your equipment goes down, the cost isn't necessarily limited to fixing the unit.

There's downtime. A truck or trailer that's not making money. Potentially a delayed delivery.
And if there's temperature-sensitive freight involved... well, let's just say nobody wants that phone call.

That's why we're big believers in catching problems early and keeping up with preventive maintenance.

At Kat Works, the goal isn't to keep your equipment in our shop.

Intermittent problems have a funny way of behaving perfectly when someone is looking at them — and showing back up at the worst possible time.

If your re**er has become a little too unpredictable lately, don't assume it's fine just because it's running today.

Bring it in. We'll help figure out what it's trying to tell you.

🔧 TRAILER TIP TUESDAY: DON'T WAIT FOR THE BREAKDOWN

There's a big difference between:
“Hey, my re**er doesn't seem to be cooling quite right.”
and... 😬
“Hey, my re**er quit and I've got a loaded trailer.”

Changes in temperature, longer pull-down times, unusual operation and recurring fault codes are worth checking out before you're depending on that unit to protect a load.

Preventive maintenance isn't particularly exciting.

Neither is sitting on the side of the road wondering what you're going to do with a temperature-sensitive load.

We'll take boring maintenance. 👍

🧼❄️ SOMETIMES YOUR RE**ER JUST NEEDS TO BREATHE.

Take a look at those coils.
Dirt, bugs, road grime and debris can build up and restrict airflow, making your re**er work harder than it should.

That's why re**er coil washing is one of those simple maintenance items that's easy to overlook — but worth keeping up with.

That one's worth paying attention to.

A re**er that's taking longer than normal to reach temperature may still technically be “working” — but that doesn't mean everything is working well.

Reduced airflow, dirty coils and other developing issues can all affect performance.

And when you're hauling temperature-sensitive freight, “eventually” isn't exactly the target temperature. 😉
