Coaxed another set of Gen I Raptor bump sticks back to life with a rebuild service for a client here in Colorado. For an OEM offering, these things are one of the best setups I've ever seen, hands down. Ford's SVT division and Fox absolutely nailed it with these. Owners get real race-level performance shocks on a mass production vehicle AND they're truly rebuildable and tunable.

So, for ~$600-$800 rebuild cost, a Raptor owner can put ~80,000 - 120,000 miles on their shocks vs $3500 - $4500 replacement with comparable aftmkt offerings currently. 💥💥💥.

I think I might have a cotton swab and assembly wipe obsession. I don't know of anyone else who has 11 different types of swabs; 7 different types of normal cotton, 4 variations of clean room certified lint free poly swabs as well as 3 different sizes of Kim wipes, which are NOT inexpensive. In addition, I use 99.9% lab grade isopropyl alcohol for final, pre-assembly cleaning and all polishing board needs; great solvent, no residue deposits or contaminants to worry about fouling seals, valve stack shims or degrading shock oils.

Finished up a set of Gen I Raptor pieces for a client here in Denver. Pretty straightforward except for the shock 'oil'...

Finished up a set of Gen I Raptor pieces for a client here in Denver. Pretty straightforward except for the shock 'oil'. I swear that it is a previously undiscovered blob-like lifeform. I've seen Jello pudding that was more like shock oil than this stuff. 😆.

Working on a unicorn kinda project for a client; 2004 Jeep LIBERTY! We're replacing his well-loved existing Fox FRS 2.0 series bump sticks with new Fox 2.0 FRS coilover pieces. We had to modify the OEM emulsion style platform to accept a remote reservoir and LSC damper combo and switch to a JM 92 Fox shock oil.

Once machine tooling met aluminum, all bets were off! 😄. While we were at it, we converted the lower mounts from a uni-ball sperichal bearing eyelet to a clamp and saddle setup required to clear the CV shafts. Not your everyday, DIY project!

After a few side-eyed looks, several instances where use of my Navy sub vocabulary were required and some close attention to detail, they turned out absolutely amazing!

I have to point out the first picture; that deep scoring of the cylinder bore is from the FACTORY! Fox really slipped up on this one. I could file my finger nails on the grooves, that's how deep they were. 🤔🤨. Hit it with the 800 grit hone, 5k paper and BETTER THAN NEW! 💥

And YES, it definitely needs an alignment after all the work! Lol. Added new LCAs, unit bearing housings, , UCA spacers and high angle CV shafts.

On the left side we have a King 3.0 PR series front coilover with CD adjusters and remote finned resi.

Context; they're application is for a Gen I Raptor RPG performance suspension kit.

On the left side we have a Fox 2.0 factory elite series coilover with upcoming modification to accept remote resi and LSC dampers.

Context; they're application is for a highly customized 2006 Jeep Liberty.

Just finished up a set of ToyTec 2.0 front bump sticks for a client's Gen 5 4Runner. Those 700 # coils are a workout when getting the preload ring into pre-rebuild position. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼. These should be GTG for another 30k+ miles of reliable service.

Since ToyTec has classified these as a legacy product, Gecko 4x4 Enterprises has sourced a sizable quantity of replacement seal heads, IFPs, rebuild seal kits, top hat spherical bearing and spacer kits (which are proprietary) and lower FK COM12T F2 fit spherical bearings to ensure that we can readily and confidently service these pieces.

Just a little trick to get valve stack shims in the ultrasonic cleaning machine while maintaining the stack orientation and still exposing the full surface area to the cleaning solution. Then they hit the polishing board. 💥💥💥
