June 2026, we ran the ChampCar Endurance Series at Autobahn Country Club. This was our third race of the year, and we had another strong driver lineup. After adding a chin splitter to keep the engine cool, the car ran well all day for Friday practice.

We got off to a strong start in Saturday's race, running in the top 15 for the first two hours of the race. Just before our first fuel stop, the engine developed a misfire. The crew swapped some parts and the car seemed to be running better after. For the rest of the day the car was a bit down on power, but the drivers and crew still managed to keep it together, and finish the race 2nd place in D class and 20th of 38 overall.

The crew stayed up all night checking every possible cause of the engine misfiring intermittently, and got it fixed for Sunday. Even though the engine was now running like new, Sunday's 7 hour race did not go as well for us. It was a wet start, and we elected to run a dry setup in anticipation of the track drying out. The rain only got heavier over the first hour of the race. Then, just over an hour in, our car suffered an engine failure with no warning, placing us 33rd of 34 cars overall.

A great night with Pack 26 Cub Scouts on Monday night! We took our ChampCar Endurance Series car to show everybody, and talk a bit of racing ahead of their upcoming pinewood derby. A good time was had by all! After the meeting, everybody got a chance to have their picture taken sitting in the car, and next to a stack of racing slicks.

Fun fact: Cole was a part of pack 26 about 18 years ago, and did the pinewood derby.

Another weekend of ChampCar Endurance Series is in the books from Mid-Ohio! The car ran great all day for Friday practice, and all of our drivers were able to take their time getting comfortable.

We unfortunately had an engine failure 90 minutes into Saturday's race. The crew pulled an all-nighter on Saturday night machining a set of heads, making a new chin spoiler, and getting a new set of heads built and the car put back together. We had a much stronger showing on Sunday, finishing 2nd place in class. We suffered a second engine failure on lap 97 as a result of engine block damage from Saturday's breakage. We'll be putting in a fresh new engine, and will be back even stronger at Pocono!

Huge shoutout to our crewmen - Chris Turner, Evan Guilmette, and Shane Swearingen. Not only working through the night doing some pretty skill and labor intensive work, but also managing Sunday's race start and keeping things going all day. This weekend wouldn't have been possible without them, and there is no way that we would have made Sunday's race start without our awesome pit crew. Thanks, guys!

Check out this driver's eye view from as our ChampCar Endurance Series Ford Mustang runs up the hill at the 2026 Bellefontaine Hill Climb Revival! Yet another podium for our car, as we finished 3rd place in our class. It was a great event, as usual, and we hope to be able to attend again in the future!

A great weekend for us last weekend to kick off the second half of our season!

Saturday, we spent the morning at the Pickerington Public Library's Touch-a-Truck event. Hundreds of kids stopped by our area to take pictures, sit in the race car, and ask some questions about racing.

From there, we loaded the car up and headed straight to Fortress Obetz for an autocross on Sunday with OVR SCCA Solo! The event went great. Had a good time catching up with our friends at the autocross, and getting the car shaken down for our next race with the ChampCar Endurance Series at Thompson Speedway.

It has been a chaotic two weeks here at Cole Morgan Racing - two weekends of back-to-back endurance racing!

First, we took the car out to New Jersey Motorsports Park for its endurance racing debut with NASA NorthEast. The day started out well, but some electrical issues during practice caused us to miss qualifying. We made the race start, but after about 45 minutes had an alternator issue. Took it behind the wall, got it fixed, and sent the car back out where it rain like a freight train for the rest of the race. We came home 3rd place in class!

Then, week two - on to Watkins Glen International with the ChampCar Endurance Series! Friday practice went smoothly. Friday night, after looking at the weather, the crew took 4 hours to check over the car and prepare it for the rain on Saturday. It worked. Our car and drivers were unstoppable on Saturday. When the green flag dropped, we fired off from our starting position of 13th overall of 76 to 8th, where we held strong for the whole first stint. At the end of the day, we finished 1st place in our class, beating 2nd place by 5 laps. We also finished 15th place overall. Unfortunately, we suffered a crash while trying to chase after 13th on the last lap with a broken shifter. Nothing that we couldn't handle, though. Drivers and crew all pitched in, and stayed up until midnight fixing the car in the wind, rain, and cold.

Unfortunately, Sunday did not go quite as well. We gambled and lost on leaving a wet weather setup in the car the night before, and not a single drop of rain fell for the entire race. With just 3 hours to go, while fighting for 1st place in D class, we suffered a headgasket failure which took us out for the day.

Still, a great two weeks of racing! A big thank you to both NASA and Champcar for putting on such great events. And thank you to Gridseat for making our team management the easiest it has ever been.

We will have the car patched up and ready to go for the Champcar weekend at Autobahn Country Club on June 12th-14th.

We took the new Mustang out to Fortress Obetz for a quick shakedown with OVR SCCA Autocross. The car ran great, but a failed starter during afternoon runs ended our day early.

Just a couple more small tweaks to make on the car, then we are heading to NJMP for a 4-hour endurance race with NASA NorthEast.

We got our new Champcar out for some testing last weekend at Hedge Hollow Raceway near Kansas City last weekend. What a great track! We will definitely be making our way back there.

As for the car, it was a great weekend of testing. We managed to sort out all of the gremlins that come with any new build, and learned some small things that need changed before our first race.

Next stop... Gingerman!
