Soundwaves finally hit the Pacific Coast!
We joined the Catalina Riders in Long Beach for a ride we won’t soon forget — 28 miles across the Pacific to Catalina Island.
Up to this point, our riding experience had been mostly lakes and rivers, so the ocean was a whole different animal. The swells, the face spray, the constant movement…let’s just say it felt like the ocean was throwing us around a little! 😂
We expected the ride back to be the real challenge.
But here’s the funny part — the Catalina Riders thought it was one of the easiest, smoothest rides of the year…so far. 🤣 These wonderful, slightly crazy people do this regularly!
Through the swells, spray and chaos, I had one thing keeping my mind on the calmer side — my tunes. 🎶 And yes, the Freq Pods did exactly what they were supposed to do.
Back in Long Beach, we loaded up and headed toward Boulder City. Just south of Hoover Dam, we met up with The Ocean Guy, who organized our next adventure down the Colorado River toward Lake Mojave.
And WOW — talk about two completely different rides.
After the Pacific Ocean, the Colorado River felt like sliding across glass with a few ripples thrown in for good measure. 😎 The water was warm, the scenery was incredible, and there were sandy beaches everywhere to pull up the skis, jump in and just enjoy it. With the music playing and the water so smooth, it made you want to fly through the canyons and take in every turn.
Two bodies of water. Two completely different experiences. One incredible few days.
Ocean swells and face spray on one ride. Warm water and sandy beaches on the next. And somewhere in the middle, a whole lot of sore muscles reminding us that we actually did all of it. 😂
We feel incredibly lucky to have met these groups, been welcomed into their adventures, and experienced places we never would have seen from shore.
This is why we ride. This is why we build Soundwaves. And this is the kind of adventure we live for.
Until the next one… 🌊🎶🤙
