While waiting for crankshafts to be ground for bearings to be babbitted, I was watching posts with babbitted engines on stands and revved up without a load. That's the quickest way to destroy babbitt bearings. Put it in gear and drive it like you stole it, but easy while in neutral.

T front, middle, and rear caps all poured. I didn't Tin all the way out to the bolt holes edges for easy clean up, but they are 100% tinned. After melting out the babbitt there is usually places that weren't tinned from previous babbitter. Those places are cleaned and tinned before pouring.

'42 Chevy rods are spun poured with high speed Tin babbitt using the centrifugal machine. All grooved, broached, oil pockets machined, .006" laminated shims and making 2nd to last cut.

'35 Fiat rods & mains finished with high speed Tin babbitt. In the middle of '35 Fiat slowed at making civilian vehicles, & started making vehicles for war vehicles. These rods needed to be widened on one side .200" for the thrust to work in this engine. They came out very well.
